The Witch - Part 1

1. Setting: Library - Buffy/Giles - Buffy shows off her cheerleader outfit to Giles. New History: Buffy has substantially shortened the skirt. He is upset about her not giving appropriate attention to being a Slayer. Buffy assures him she can do both.
2. Setting: Gym - Buffy/Xander/Willow/Cordelia/Amy - Xander approves of Buffy’s choice of activity while also hornily staring at the cheerleaders. Willow and Buffy are amused by his actions. New History: Buffy also appraises the cheerleaders. Xander gives Buffy a bracelet for luck that says “Yours Always”. Buffy finds it sweet while Willow is annoyed and surprised. Willow sees Amy and introduces her to Buffy. New History: Instead of talking about one of the cheerleaders, Cordelia bullies Willow into leaving. Amy and Buffy talk about their Moms; Buffy thinks a closer relationship with her mother would be dangerous. Everyone watches the cheerleader’s dance until her hands combust.
3. Setting: Library - Buffy/Willow/Xander/Giles - The group discusses the current danger. Giles does not know what caused it, but is excited about the uncertainty of the Hellmouth. Xander and Willow are eager to help Buffy, who is cautious but accepts their help.
4. Setting: Kitchen - Buffy/Joyce - Buffy tries to engage with her mother, though it is difficult as Joyce is focused on art. Joyce is happy that Buffy is getting back into cheerleading, though the conversation becomes strained when Joyce brings up the troubles in LA. Joyce does not show her daughter a fertility statue.
5. Setting: Gym - Cordelia/Amy - During a tryout, Amy crashes into Cordelia. New history: Cordelia attacks Amy because of her friendship with Willow.
6. New Scene: Cordelia pushes for a no lesbian rule. The other cheerleaders agree.
7. Setting: Hallway - Amy/Buffy - Buffy and Amy talk about Catherine Madison and her cheerleading success. Amy is upset with her body. After Amy leaves Willow engages Buffy, Willow talks about how strict Amy’s mother is and how she and Amy used to hang out at her house and eat sweets.
8. Setting: Locker Room post shower - Amy/Cordelia - Cordelia confronts Amy about her earlier mistake during tryouts. Cordelia talks about her dreams and threatens Amy.
9. Setting: Quad - Xander/Willow - Xander asks Willow if Buffy was wearing the bracelet. He then goes into how nice it is to have a friend like Willow who is like one of the guys but knows girl stuff.
10. Setting: Quad - Xander/Willow/Amy/Buffy/Cordelia - The cheerleading roster has been posted. Xander pushes his way through the crowd of girls. He then screws-up what he tells Buffy and Amy; they are alternates and did not make the team. Buffy tries to console Amy by inviting her for a brownie pigout, but Amy storms off.

I was not planning to do the Witch as two parts; however I think the non-combat/danger scenes create the most potential for change, and this episode has a lot of them.
