The way to Goodsprings.

Along the road to Goodsprings they traveled along the man made roadway from pre-war days. While traveling with heavy packs and cautious movements a sudden shock and crash halted the advance northward.

Madeline was walking behind Seth Owen who was constantly looking at the plants of the wasteland when an explosion suddenly rocked Madeline from her feet. She fell her eyes were blurred and her ears rang as she began to then pick up the sudden *thud *thud *thud. She didn't realize at first what that noise was as she regained her understanding of the situation. But she saw Captain Ward firing his rifle while taking cover behind a tree. Seth was torn to ribbons by the explosion and Doctor Giles took cover behind a large rock, his 10mm pistol in hand firing wildly.

Madeline reaches instinctively for her own 10mm pistol, she rushes to find cover and begins firing at wildly at first, then she slows down takes a breath and aims her pistol at the closest target. A man in what looks like riot gear heads towards here with a baton. She aims the sights and squeezes the trigger.

She squeezes again and a third time. The figure lurches over with each pull of the trigger and slumps to the ground, blood pooling from his bloody wounds. She reloads her weapon and gets ready to take aim at another figure when she spots Captain Ward and Doctor Giles being surrounded by approaching bandits.
