You and the ship are one, having long ago bonded this wayward spacefaring creature to yourself, now it serves as the vessel by which you and your hive is carried to your new home.

Over the years you’ve burrowed pathways within the creature, harmlessly of course, in truth the creature likely would never had noticed if not for your connection.

As you sit amid the space whales brain you feel the scuttling of your hive, meager as it is, you love them all deeply for they are each perfect.

Then you feel something else, something foreign and wrong through the sensory organs of your ship, far in the distance you spot an all too familiar sight.

The vessel is made from soulless metal and manned by strange creatures, those that are not like the hive, those that reject the hive and all of its gifts.

The ship sails straight towards the hive, these ships had been hunting you for at least a dozen cycles now, if you are to be rid of them, you’ll need to take matters into your own hands.

You will your mighty vessel to approach the ship, the hull bending slowly as the beast turns and manipulates a series of strange bulbs along its brain to push itself in the chosen direction.

The foreign vessel stops in its tracks as you slowly circle it, a sudden intrusion pushing deep into your skull, no doubt coming from the ship of metal, a voice calls, one that is not of the hive.

“Attention, you are under arrest, surrender peacefully and you will not be harmed” Arrest? This is not a word you are familiar with, you turn your attention from the voice and search the minds of the hive, looking for answers.

You do not like what you find; these strange ‘individuals’ intend to throw you in a cell, a cramped cage from which there is no escape until you serve their arbitrary time period of suffering.

What will become of your hive? Will THEY be subject to this treatment? This cannot stand, you cannot allow this treatment to come to the hive and if you must destroy the threat, so be it.

You signal your vessel, a silent order that passes from your mind and into that of the beast in an instant. It turns amid the darkness of space and with a surge through that strange growth along its brain it launches itself at the ship of steel.

The oblong, armored nose of the beast slams into the side of the hull, you can practically feel the crunch of steel against you as if you yourself had made the attack.

The ship opens up, cannons along its sides firing out beams of light and heat that sting your vessel, your skin burns slightly as you take in every sensation your ship suffers.

Again you coax your craft into ramming the ship, this time you can see that the hull of the ship had dented inwards, the lights flicker inside as power begins to fail.

Then other cannons fire, strange little spheres that twist and turn in odd angles, like they themselves were piloted crafts before they slam into the side of your vessel. There’s a moment of confusion as to what those were meant to do and then an explosion rings out, a searing pain wrecks havoc into your side but no physical wound is present.

Both ships have suffered heavy damage, the drones along the mid section of the ship report severe damage to hull integrity, its only a matter of time before the poor creature gives way to the vacuum of space and the hive is destroyed in its icy grip.

You must land until you can sufficiently repair the ships biomass, you search the minds of the hive once more, looking for knowledge of the quadrant and coming up empty and so you must simply pick a planet and sail to it. Your pursuer won’t be able to give chase.

With each passing moment the ship cries out in agony, it’s pain becoming your own as you fight to maintain control of the vessel, so long as it lives, you can heal it.

The blue and green marble gets closer and closer, the breaching the atmosphere the ship losing control of its flight organs as the pain from both battle and the heat of reentry as it plummets down, the planets surface rising to meet you when suddenly. BOOOM.

You wake up some time later alone amid the crash site, you search for minds among the hive but you find nothing but crippling silence.

Your vessel had crashed on some backwater planet and now the hive is gone, even the ship lay dead as you slowly climb out of the wreckage.

In the distance you hear a noise, the sound of talking, knowing that you are too weak to fight whatever indigenous life lay on the planet, you flee.

You run and run until you find civilization but you know better then to walk blindly through its streets, unawares of what customs and traditions are in place, you’ve no intention of being discovered by a primitive species just to be studied in a lab.

You find a tunnel that run beneath the city, you search and eventually find that the small stretch of area inhabited by a small clan of indigenous life 4 in total.

They were sickly looking and spoke in a tongue you didn’t understand. In hopes of ingratiating yourself with these strange creatures you gave them a gift, a place within your hive

Yes, they didn’t appreciate the process of being assimilated but no work of art is beautiful before it is finished.

You scanned over their minds, reading their memories, thoughts and feelings like a book and you learned much about the situation.

They were a mistreated bunch, forgotten by their brothers and sisters on the surface due to their lack of funds, they made their home down in these ‘sewers’

It seemed… odd but you figured that you would be able to fix them eventually, once they were all accepted into your hive you’d be able to mold them into their most perfect selves, free of greed and meaningless ****.

All would be one… under the Unity.

(A/N: I’m looking to overhaul this story line and expand it some, I hope you enjoy!)

But Where Do You Start…?
