The Swamp (Avatar The Last Airbender)

"Aang, why are we going down?" Sokka asked.

"What? I didn't even notice."

"Are you noticing now?"

The gang watched from the saddle as Appa neared closer and closer to the ground by the second, seemingly drawn to the neverending swamp below.

"Is something wrong?" Katara asked.

"I know this is gonna sound weird, but I think the swamp is calling to me." Aang replied.

"Is it telling you where we can get something to eat?" Sokka asked.

"No. I- I think it wants us to land there."

"No offence to the Swamp, but I don't see any land there to land on."

"I don't know, Bumi said to learn earthbending I would have to wait and listen, and now I'm actually hearing the earth. Do you want me to ignore it?"

"Yes." Sokka said, peering over the saddle at the swamp below.

"I don't know, there's something ominous about this place." Katara said.

Appa growled with discontent.

"See, even Appa doesn't like it here." Sokka warned.

"Okay, since everyone feels so strongly about this. Bye Swamp. Yip Yip." Aang said and flicked Appa's reins causing him to speed up his flight across the Swamp.

"You better throw in an extra Yip. We gotta move." Sokka exclaimed, looking back at a giant tornado that seemed to have come out of nowhere.

Despite their best efforts Aang and Sokka were flung from their saddle and sent flying down into the swamp below by the tornado and were separated from Katara and Appa, their only way out of there.

"Where's Appa and Katara?" Aang asked. Sokka shrugged at him. "Wait here, I'll see if I can find where they might've gone."

Aang quickly climbed up the tallest tree he could find to get a good view of the surrounding area. "Appa. Katara." He cried out. There was no reply. He returned to Sokka.

"You couldn't find them?"

"No. And the tornado, it's gone."
