Chapter 18

Where to first?
The Smithery Club
As you walked along, your eyes roving over the various banners advertising different clubs, you caught on a thought you'd had previously, but pushed off.
You had no way of fighting. While technically not required, from your memory of the series, Tsukune's group had a tendency to get into fights whether they tried to avoid them or not, you just chalked it up to the fact that a lot of monsters could understand the language of ****. So you felt a need to have a way to fight and protect yourself, and Kurumu as well, although she could handle herself decently in a fight.
From what you could recall, you should be able to produce flames to fight with and you had done so previously, but now as you tried to will the embers into existence, you got no results. So, filing that away to try later and practice because you couldn't get into a fight and not be able to use an intrinsic part of your species, you tried to think of any other way you could fight. The basic two currently were simple hand-to-hand combat which you seemed capable of given you sent Saiko flying with a simple kick and using some sort of weapon like Yukari and Kokoa, which you had no idea how to do beyond simply swinging it around.
So you started looking for a Karate Club or a Kendo Club, you'd even settle for an Archery Club or a Wrestling Club.
This also brought up another thought, if you joined a club like that, it would mean you would spend less time with Kurumu, Moka, and Tsukune, not to mention subsequently Yukari, Mizore, and Kokoa. Also Gin, but you had never met the guy and...
You trailed off as you returned to the root thought. Sure Kurumu could join one of the more Athletically inclined Clubs with you, but she didn't really have any need to. You were only joining because you wanted a way to fight alongside your friends.
You turned to point this out to her when a flying body blocked your path.
"Go awey, we don't want yur kind hare!" A gruff voice said from nearby, and looking up you didn't even have to see the man to know what kind of creature he was. A dull silver banner was hanging overhead that read 'Smithery Club '. Smithing and an accent like that only left one famous creature: Dwarves.
The flying body in question however, let out a low groan and you realized it was a young girl as she stood up, only coming up to around your hip or so. She had long black hair which she'd pulled into an impressive bun with the left side hanging over her face, nearly completely obscuring her vibrant pink eye. Her right ear had a large golden ring in it.
"An take yur bag a shite, we don want nothin yur grubby hands ave touched!" A different Dwarf shouted into the hall as a satchel was sent flying through the air as the girl jumped up trying to catch it only for it to cleanly sail over her head by several feet, probably on purpose.
Luckily for her, your were standing there, towering over her so the bag was an easy, clean catch for you as you handed it off to the small girl.
"Hey, be careful with that you buncha rockheads!" The girl snarled back in such a way that on most girl it would've made them look disfigured, but on her it just made her look like a little spitfire.
"Hey, thanks guy, sorry you had to see such a rude display by our resident metalworkers." The girl thanked you as she slung the satchel over her body, the worn leather resting against her hip.
"Don't worry about it, it wasn't your fault. Me and my girlfriend, Kurumu, were looking at clubs to join but since they seems to rather chauvinistic, maybe we'll keep looking." You said as Kurumu came up, apparently she'd been lagging behind to talk with one of the other Clubs.
"He, as much as I'd like to see those buncha hammers for brains hurting for new club members, I wouldn't feel right with-" Whatever she'd been about to say was lost as Kurumu gave a small squeal and scooped the girl up, burying the girl's face into her bosom.
"Oh, she's so cute, can we keep her?" Kurumu asked you cutely as you sighed, although you couldn't help but smile.
"Hey, let me go, you cow!" The girl ordered as she wriggled free of Kurumu's grasp, glaring at the succubus with a red face.
"I think we might get in trouble if we started abducting other students Ku." You pointed out as Kurumu whined.
"But she a Goblin baby, I've heard they have very dexterous fingers, not to mention Goblins are prolific breeders among the Youkai communities. Although, with her being so small, I don't know if she could handle someone as gifted as you." She stage whispered which made not only the apparent Goblin girl blushed crimson, but you as well.
"Oh, she'd be perfect for your harem!" Kurumu cheered as she began giving a sales pitch to the goblin girl about joining your currently nonexistent harem.
"Why do I feel like a prized stud?" You wondered aloud as you wrapped an arm around Kurumu, attempting to pull her away before she made either the Gobliness or you have a meltdown.
"Ku, as much as the idea of you pimping me out is, I don't even know the her name." You pointed out to which the Goblin helpfully replied, "It's Momo."
Kurumu, however, was still off in her own little world, "Oh look, a Smithery Club, maybe they could make a lovely little collar for Momo here so everyone knows that you've already claimed her body as your property." Kurumu suggested, and before you could shoot the idea down, Momo heatedly interjected, "I can make my own collar, for your information!"
"You can make things like that?" You jumped in this time as Kurumu rattled on the background, you were starting to wonder if one of the numerous clubs had slipped her **** or something because she being unusually chipper right now.
"Oh right, I didn't finish what I was saying earlier. The reason they won't let me into the club isn't because I'm a girl, it's because I'm a Goblin. Dwarves and Goblins hate each other, always have and probably always will. It started a long time back when our two species used to feud over selling swords and weaponry to other Youkai to use in battle, and obviously we'd try to one up each other on the quality of our work until it got to the point that we decided to kill two Dwarves with one arrow and started proving the quality of our weapons by killing the Dwarves, naturally they returned the favor and we've been a bit of a war ever since. Although lately it's become more of a Cold War." Momo began lecturing as you resumed walking, you pulling Kurumu along behind you by interlacing your fingers with hers.
"Hmm, think you could make something for me then?" You asked, and you felt a strange flicker inside as you saw Momo's face light up with joy at the mention of making something.
"Sure, but first where are you headed, so I can find you later and deliver it, or you could give me your Apartment number." Momo asked, the last part in a barely audible whisper.
