The Rumors

A couple weeks later, Dean and Brooke’s divorce was finalized. They split everything in half but since Brooke was living at a friends house, Taylor continued to live with Dean.

Dean’s house was full of memories that he didn’t want to remember. He was thinking about downsizing soon, probably something with two bedrooms, one for Dean and one for Taylor.

Dean hasn’t gotten out or dated at all, he just continues to jerk off to porn, he was satisfied with this for now. He didn’t want to get hurt again.

Taylor came home from school upset once again, Dean didn’t know what this was about. She ran into his arms crying. “What’s wrong baby?” Dean said consoling her. “Is it true?” She asked. “Is what true honey?”

“I’ve been hearing rumors at school… I tried to ignore them but I’m told it’s true.” Taylor said. “What is it?” Dean asked. “That Mom is pregnant with Jack’s baby?” Dean knew the truth would come out sooner or later. “I think you need to call your mom…” Dean said. Brooke picked up her phone and dialed her Mom, she ran up the stairs to her room, “Mom?” She was in tears. Dean ran up the stairs to listen at Taylor’s door.

Dean could only hear Taylor’s side of the conversation:

“Are you pregnant with Jack’s baby?”

“How could you?”

“Is that why he stopped talking to me?”

“How could you do this to me?”

“Are you living with his family?”

“Is that why I’m not allowed to come to your place?”

“How could you do this to Dad?”

“No I don’t want to see you.”

“I don’t want to see you ever again!”

Taylor hung up the phone and started crying. Dean barged into the room, she wasn’t upset that he was listening in, he comforted her. Only time could heal this wound.

Taylor had to survive the rest of the school year with everyone knowing that her classmate knocked up her Mom and made her parents divorce. She lost her popularity because of it, luckily her studies didn’t suffer and she took her frustration out playing sports and had a great season. Taylor didn’t talk to her Mother anymore, she couldn’t forgive her for what she did to her and her Dad.

Graduation was awkward for all parties involved. Taylor and Jack were in the same graduating class. Dean could see Brooke from a far, she was with Richard and Alexa, he hasn’t seen them since Taylor was born.

Richard was still an ugly prick in Dean’s opinion, Alexa was almost unrecognizable to her former self, she really let herself go and was overweight. Dean looked around them and saw four kids of various ages, they were all girls. Not only did Richard get Alexa pregnant with Jack, he had her pop out four other children. Dean shook his head to himself, Brooke was now a part of that circus. Jack and Taylor graduated and the ceremony ended, everyone was sticking around to chat with friends, Taylor chatted with some of the friends she had left that stuck with her even though her popularity dwindled.

Dean could see Brooke in the distance once again, she was starting to show she was pregnant. Richard and his family were with her, they were all congratulating Jack. Dean watched as Jack dropped to a knee and proposed to Brooke. “Brooke, will you marry me?” Brooke’s hands shot up to her face in surprise, she said “Yes!” Jack put the ring on her finger and they embraced each other with a kiss. Half the people surrounding them clapped while the other half just were staring. Jack was young enough to be Brooke’s son, it was weird.

Taylor noticed Dean staring off in the distance and noticed the same thing. “Dad?” She said. Dean looked at her, “Ready to get out of here?” He asked her. They walked away and that was the last time Dean and Taylor were in that town.

It turns out Brooke ended up having a healthy baby boy with Jack. Dean wonders if Brooke will get that ‘uncontrollable urge’ again when her son turns 18. He will probably hear about that on the news if she’s that crazy. Dean didn’t know how Brooke could function with that family after having sex with all the guys in it but somehow she makes it work, he guesses she’s happy.

Taylor went to college far away where she could start out brand new. Dean was sad that she went to college so far away but he knew it was for the best. Plus she visited on any holidays and stayed with him during the summer. She never got a boyfriend while in high school, she was probably scarred for life from what happened, maybe college would be different for her.

Dean moved a couple towns over and downsized into a comfy home. He started dating again but didn’t let things get to serious. He had his fun and was happy without the commitment.
