The Post Mortem

Time: 0753, March 11th, 2154

Location: Lucy's Lament Colonial Medical Center

Annalise used a finger to wipe a red hair from her face and tuck it back behind her ear. The creature they had come to examine, which they had secured just a few hours ago in a tube of formaldehyde, had disentigrated. All that was left was a gelatinous cocktail of previously living material. She sighed. They'd have to hope that DAS could provide answers to Jennifer's affliction now.

Luther was a differentt story. The post mortem analysis of his body showed that he had been rocked by a previously unknown toxin that destroyed his nervous and cardiopulmonary systems in quick order. He had not suffered long. When they were done with him they put his body back on ice until Dr. Phillips could give them orders on what to do with him while they waited on funeral details to be sent from home. It was quite possible they may have to incinerate him due to the possibility of biological contagion.

Annalise input the information she gathered with Olivia's help and let AUNTIE start building a profile of their creature.

BASED UPON REPORTS FROM POST MORTEM OF LUTHER GUNTHER AND DEBRIEFING OF LUCY'S LAMENT RECONNAISSANCE TEAM, IT IS ASSUMED THIS CREATURE USES HIGHLY LETHAL NEURO-HEMORRHAGIC TOXIN TO KILL WHEN THREATENED. AUNTIE IS STILL DECIPHERING DATA DOWNLOADED FROM UNNAMED EXTRATERRESTRIAL VESSEL AND ROBERT TO BUILD FURTHER PROFILE OF HOSTILE ORGANISM. :

Annalise shuddered. She didn't like the thoughts of that creature, having seen it when it had just died. She worried for Jennifer, wondering what was gestation inside of her.

"Did you hear that?" Asked Olivia.

"Hear what?" Annalise said as she rolled the gurney with Luther's body on it back to one of the freezer drawers. She latched the door and they waited, listening.

A scream. A moan.

"What is that?" Annalise said. Then it clicked. "Jennifer!"

They rushed down the hall together and found Joyce as they went. She accompanied them to DAS. When they threw open the door, they found Jennifer resting on the floor naked with her back against the examination table, sitting in a puddle of semi-translucent liquid. Her belly had deflated some. Dr. Wyandotte was kneeling over her.

"What the hell happened?!" Joyce shouted.
