Chapter 4
by lilguy
Who's it gonna be?
The Patriot
The Patriot had recently picked up reports of a major crime scene on the police band built into his sky-cycle. Unlike some of the darker heroes of the city, Patriot had friends on the **** that allowed him to get pass turf wars and red tape. They allowed him to look over the crime scene and share information. After all, they were on the same team.
“It's a damn shame; what happened here?” the first officer on the scene, Detective Mark Bishoff, asked.
They were at one of the museums in the city. A recent display that had been set up about costumed heroes of WWII had been vandalized, and several artifacts had been stolen. Two security guards had been wounded in the battle. Seeing no other leads at the moment, the Patriot interviewed the guard that was still conscious.
“It was 3 women and 2 men. The leader seemed to be a woman with long blond hair,” the young guard said.
“Any other characteristics you can tell me, son?” Patriot asked.
“Well, she had a British accent and was . . . well . . . HOT. Her body seemed very fit. From the way she attacked me, she's gotta have amazing speed and strength. Two of the punks with her called her the Anarchist. I think I saw some sort of tattoo of a snake on running down her arm.”
“What kind of snake?”
“Not really sure; I ain't a zookeeper.”
“C'mon, try for me, kid; colors, textures; did anything stand out?”
“Well, it looked purple.”
“Did it have green eyes that seemed to glow a bit?” Patriot asked.
“Yeah! Yeah, it did.”
“Is that a lead?” Detective Bishoff asked.
“Well, there's this club downtown, that some of the more angry and wild townspeople head to. It plays heavy metal and industrial stuff. A lot of trouble has been going on there for a while now. The frequent visitors sometimes get tattoos like this down there. It's a youth thing; you know how it is.” the Patriot said.
“Hmph, didn’t think you were a heavy metal fan, GI Jim,” Bishoff commented. Unlike some cops, Mark was a bit wary of costumed heroes. The riots back in '77 were still a sore spot for some of the boys in blue in this city.
“I'm not; I've always been a bit of a blues fan. But hey, you play the game as long as me, you learn to listen, get leads from others, that sort of thing.” Patriot said.
What does he do?
