The Necklace

Jim wasn’t able to react in time, as the door swung open to show an upset woman, who reached out past the ball in Jim’s outstretched arm and grabbed his shirt collar, dragging him out to meet equally angry children. As Jim gathered himself, he noticed something odd and rather frightening. The woman is wearing the same necklace as the other woman who haunted Jim, back in the house! Sapphires and every little detail that Jim could remember.

“Give us our ball back!” Whined one child, prompting the others to echo the same demand.

“I’m sorry, I’m just a bit shaken up. Here.” Jim tossed the ball into one boy’s’ glove and walked away, heading back to his house. Following him, at a close distance, was the woman, whom she has a strong feeling of familiarity with.
