Chapter 11 by SympatheticDevil SympatheticDevil

What does she find?

The Janitor

Amy headed for the gym. The cheerleaders were supposed to be practicing just then, she remembered from her own cheerleader days. They would want her to be captain, the way she SHOULD have been the first time around if it hadn't been for bitch Shiela.

But when Amy stode into the gym, all ready to show the new girls how a REAL cheerleader struts her stuff, she found the gym empty exept for Mr. Horner, the old janitor. The man looked up and smiled.

"Amy!" he said. "Amy Dickinson! What brings you back here? You're looking great!"

Amy blushed.

"Hi Mr. Horner," she said. "I...I'm surprised you'd remember me after all these years."

"Oh, it hasn't been that long!" the man said. "I've still got your year book photo hanging up in my closet. You didn't come here looking for me, though, did you?"

Amy shrugged off the creepy implications and charged ahead with her plan.

"I...I was looking for the cheerleaders!" Amy said. "I want them to make me their captain!"

"Oh, well, they're off at some sort of camp," the janitor said. "Won't be back for a week."

"A week?" Amy said, dismayed. "I don't want to wait a week! I finally get some luck and I can't even use it! Unless I could wish them here. I wonder...do you know anything about magic Mr. Horner?"

The janitor stroked his chin.

"Magic? Well, I might know a little bit. I know this great trick called hide the bone."

"The bone?" Amy asked, excited, holding out the bone. "Like this one? Do you know if I could wish people to appear with it?"

"Well, I'm not so..." the janitor began and quicker than Amy would have thought possible, snatched it from her grasp. "...sure about that. Let me take a look."

"Hey! Give that back!" Amy said, with dawning panic and fury.

"Calm down now, sweet cheeks," he said. "I can call you that now on account of you not being a student here any more."

"You can call me sweet cheeks," Amy agreed, feeling much calmer now.

The janitor looked at her, pursing his lips.

"This bone feels almost like it's alive," he said. "What did you mean about it being magic?"

"It can make people do things," Amy said. "It can make them think things and change their bodies and do whatever you want. But I don't know if it can make people appear. That's what I was asking you."

"Sounds like a dangerous thing to have in the possesion of a silly little bimbo like yourself," Mr. Horner observed. "Why don't you just let good ol' Mr. Horner take care of it for you? Then you won't have to worry your silly little head about it."

Amy giggled, relieved not to have to worry about it any more. Mr. Horner was just so nice! She wondered what he was going to do with the bone.

What will he do with the bone?
