The Heroic Gron

Of all the Cave Toads who had been teleported through the strange gate deep in their lair, most had maintained their rather evil nature. While some could argue was to their primitive nature, as even the most cunning of creatures were subject to the most base and lizard like nature. Sleep, eat, shelter, and breeding. While some showed some emotion, it was often a more mocking and imitated expression based on age and experience. In truth, the creatures had more in common with lizardfolk than bullywugs or boggarts.

But the comicbook worlds were a strange place, and while some were given powers that they ultimately used to gain the most sexy and buxom of prey... well, others received little. And in the case of the youngish Gron, he got something none of the others received. Perspective and Abstract Thought. While it didn't seem like much, the ability to actually contemplate right and wrong was a far more potent power than a seemingly indestructible skin, or the ability to negate powers. In the end, Gron knew something. What his kind were doing was incredibly wrong... but no worse than what a great deal of what humans were already doing.

It was a strange mix of both lizard brain, and the cognitive reasoning to understand the right and wrongs of the world. As he watched his kin grab anyone they could, he could not bring himself to partake of the breeding. In the end, he left, just as a group of heroes descended on his lair like a hammer of justice.

One might not expect the creature to become a hero... and it was a long road to do so. Hiding, feeding, and avoiding human contact. However, he eventually was pushed into the role. After all, the places he hid often came very close to proximity to super villains, or villains in general. And sometimes, a creature is pushed to far...
