The Grey Man

New guy at work. Quiet. Handsome. Orderly. Kept to himself. Kept to work.

The grey man. He didn’t make himself known — everyone was busy with paperwork or something. They probably noticed too. Just didn’t care.

Veronica itched. Soup noticed. He was a virus entering the mainframe.

Veronica. Not many friends. Most employees were greasy neck beards — base perverts concerned with her mid-thighs. She had scared most of them away eons ago.

Only one friend. Emily. Ten years older. Pretty. Short and cute. Smart as fuck. She had a brown bob and thick black glasses. Her husband was in management — meet the nerd, reap the benefits. However, Emily told Veronica that her husband was an early finisher. It never did go both ways.

“Psst — girl, did you see Mr Shady at eight o’clock…” Veronica said.

Emily was smart. She didn’t look.

“Yes… His name is Richard,” she said, “A new programmer…”

Veronica huffed, “I bet his code is fucking trash…”

Veronica stole glances throughout the day. A strange feeling. Her chest, heavy.

Veronica in her head. Normally observant. Then she realised. He was after her — a grey man sent to apprehend her. Soup was elusive. At large. Unanswered.

“Veronica… want a cup of water?” A dweeb neck beard said to her.

“Er… no…” she said.

SPLASH!

The dweeb smiled — he had spilled it all over her.

She couldn’t believe it. She looked at her shirt. A white blouse going transparent showing her black bra and cleavage.

“Get out of my way…” she pushed past.

She went to the bathroom. Removed her wet blouse and bra. Her soft C cups with pretty pink nipples showing. The cold made them hard.

The door opened. Richard. The grey man entered with a smile. Veronica stepped back, bare chested. Eyes wide. Breath held.

“Soup…” he said.
