Chapter 2 by gunde gunde

So, which setting will it be?

The Graphic Novels

The room was small and windowless, with piping running all over the metallic walls.
The furniture was scarce and Spartan; a low, narrow bed, a couple of chairs, some clothes and cans dumped wherever there was a flat space near the walls, and several piles of books placed wherever there was a flat surface.

A closed and locked-shut hatch dominated the floor.

A beautiful, black-haired young woman laid in the bed, her right knee on the floor.
She was naked save for a red thong, and a white top that was tied together at the front, and which reached down to just above her navel.

““A thick and luxuriant vegetation covered the hills and mountains…” Hills and mountains? “…the great trees were bent by the strong north wind…””

Druuna was unable to comprehend what the book stated, feeling as though it made no sense whatsoever, and dropped her right hand, which was holding the book, onto the floor.

“I think it’s time I got rid of all this, it’s too dangerous…” She said out loud as she placed her head on the thin, worn pillow.

She got up into a sitting position on the bed, her feet on the floor, and looked at the opened book that she now held in front of her again. A low thumping could be heard from below the hatch.

“The person who wrote this book lived before all this…” Druuna thought “The time of Men had yet not begun. People lived with enough knowing the truth… just lies.”

She threw the book onto the floor and placed her hands on the side of the bed, leaning her head forwards.

“That’s what the priests are saying at least. And that the ancients lies caused the outbreak of the sickness.”

The thumps grew louder, and now a bestial growl could also be heard from below the hatch.

“Stop it Shastar!” Druuna screamed at the hatch. “Please! You know that I don’t have any more!

“Well, I guess they’re right in destroying all of these.” Druuna resumed her thinking and looked over at the piles of books. “They’re full of useless words…absurd...”

The howls and growls from below rose in volume and ferocity again.

Druuna stood with her left foot on the floor and her right knee on the mattress, preparing to go to bed, her left hand holding her blanket.

“Shut up Shastar! I’m tired, so why don’t you leave me alone? I’ve already given you the last dose… please!”

The sounds died down almost completely, now only a weak scraping sound could be heard.
Dropping the blanket, Druuna closed her always halfway shut, a sad expression on her face.

“Oh, god… okay, okay… don’t sulk. Just promise that you’ll listen to me any that you want cause any noise.”
Druuna squatted down by the hatch, her thong going further up the crack of her ass, her buttocks parted slightly, and removed the led-pipe which had kept it shut.

“See, I’m letting you out.”

Once the pipe had been moved from the hatch, Druuna crawled back into her bed.

“Just wait a moment Shastar, I’m going to get on the bed and turn around… please forgive me, but it's still frightening.”

“You can come out now.” Druuna said when she had placed herself so that she was facing the wall by the bed, allowing her to look away when Shastar came up through the hatch. “Go near the door, that’s the best spot.”

“You’ll be nice, won’t you Shastar? You won’t hurt me?” Druuna asked to the creature that had now lifted the hatch up with it’s boil-covered tentacles.

Druuna saw Shastar’s shadow grow nearer, his tentacles reaching out towards her.
“No, no… don’t do that! Go to the other side.” Druuna cried out, and then bit her pillow in horror.
“I’ll go get you some more medication, okay? I’ll try to find some.”

The orange-coloured, boil-infested blob-like creature moved back from Druuna and into the shadows.

She sat up in the bed, her arms against the mattress, and spoke to it:
“Okay, good…that’s right. Now you just stay there, and be good… you know that there would be a lot of trouble if they found you in here.”

Its condition seemed to have gotten worse these last few days, and Druuna was saddened as she imagined what sort of anguish that her former lover must be going through.

“You’ll see, I’ll get you your dose… I know where to look.” Druuna was now slipping on a pair of pants, and thought with disgust about that filthy piece of lard of a doctor from whom she got the medication.
He wouldn’t be able to say no this time either.

After having tied a cloak around her neck and put on her shoes, Druuna pulled the door open and prepared to step outside, turning her head round and saying “I’ll be back in an hour.”

As she stepped outside, Shastar got hold of her left foot with one of his tendrils, and began to drag her back into the room.

“Hey! What are you doing!? Are you crazy!? Let me go!”

Does Shastar release his hold on Druuna or does he pull her back in?
