The Estate

By the estate I am referring to the land and property owned by the Earl outside the House.

This includes the surrounding tenant farms and tied cottages. A few of the servants have family in these buildings and the Estate Manager and the countess will often visit them.

In addition the Earl owns several properties in High Wycombe including the hostel for fallen women and the Cockshoots Inn, where not entirely coincidentally many of the fallen women previously plied their trade. Guests who cannot stay in the Hall are frequently put up there. The landlord and landlady of the inn are previous employees of the Hall.

The Earl owns a modern art gallery and shop in London, where much of his and Angelica's work is sold.

In addition The Earl and the Estate Manager jointly own a servant's agency from which they choose suitable staff for permanent and temporary work at the Hall. There are a few offices spread around the country, although no-one has ever investigated it enough to know who actually runs it.
