What's next?

The Enigmatic Exhibit

Leaving the high school campus that afternoon, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment. I had been hoping to catch up with Saki after our last class, but she had left without giving any details or saying where she was heading. It wasn't like her to be so mysterious, but I knew she must have had a good reason.

As I walked toward the school's entrance, my phone vibrated in my pocket, indicating a new message. It was from my mom, asking if I could find someone to drop me off at Saki estate. Her request seemed odd and urgent, but when I pressed for more information, she only replied with the vague response, "It's important that you're dropped off at their house for the weekend."

Felt a mix of curiosity and concern, I texted back, assuring her that I would find a way home. My older brother's car was parked nearby, and luckily, he was already inside, waiting for me.

"Clara. Ready to go?" he asked, giving me a warm smile.

"Yeah, but can you drop me off at Saki's estate instead? My mom said it's important," I replied, still puzzled by the whole situation.

Without questioning my request, my brother nodded and said, "Sure thing, let's go."

The car ride was mostly silent, but my mind was buzzing with questions. Why was my mom so insistent on me going to Saki's estate? What could be so important? I didn't have any answers, so I decided to just go with the flow and see what awaited me.

When we arrived at Saki's estate, I thanked my brother and stepped out of the vehicle. The grand entrance was open, inviting me inside. I walked in, and the familiarity of the place comforted me. However, as I entered the main room and looked up over the fireplace, my heart skipped a beat, and confusion washed over me.

There, hanging from the ceiling by the two industrial wrenches, was Saki in a rope harness. She was suspended in the air, her feet gently swaying. My initial reaction was to call out to her, but as I did, I noticed something unusual – she didn't respond, as if she couldn't see or hear me.

I called, "Saki! It's me, Clara!" I called again, stepping closer.

Still, there was no reaction. I squinted, trying to make sense of what was happening. It seemed she had fashioned some sort of rope blindfold, covering her eyes and possibly her ears too. Why? What was the meaning behind this enigmatic exhibit?

I walked cautiously around the room, taking in the intricacies of the rope art. The patterns were mesmerizing, and it was evident that Saki had poured her heart and soul into creating this breathtaking installation. But it left me with more questions than answers.

Feeling a mix of awe and concern, I approached Saki again, this time looking up to see the only thing on her was the ropes connecting her to the cables. It was calm, reassuringly so, but she remained unresponsive. Was this part of the exhibit, or was something else going on?

I decided to wait patiently, trusting that my best friend had a purpose behind all of this. After all, she had told me that it was for her rope exhibit, and now I was witnessing the unveiling of her creation. I just hoped she would reveal the meaning behind it soon and that it was nothing serious.

As I waited, I found myself admiring the depth of Saki's artistic talent once again. Her ability to convey emotions and messages through her rope art was truly remarkable, and I couldn't wait to hear her thoughts on this mysterious installation. Until then, I would stay by her on the couch below, supporting her, just as she had always supported me.
