Chapter 26 by D!$N3Y D!$N3Y

What's next?

The End. At last.

Beast Boy had become his werebeast form, slashing away at a clone of Jeremy, whom dodged a number of them until he was gradually getting exhausted. A slashing uppercut knocked him back, crashing into the wall he slid down afterward. He was panting hard while globules of sweat heavily dotted across his forehead. He looked up at Beast Boy, whom raised his fists together to hammer on him. Jeremy used a last-ditch attempt: channeling Overload's powers and passing through him, shocking his system heavily! Beast Boy groaned as he returned to normal, remnants of the electric attack sparked some upon him.

Raven, meanwhile, had problems of her own. She used her powers to move rocks and many debris parts to attack another copy. He stretched out of the way, sweating like his comrade but slightly less. "You'll have to do better than dat/that," he taunted more with Rouge's voice than his own. He composed himself and stretched his arms past both sides of her, straight past Rachel who tried to block what was an attempt to grab her. He pulled with lots of groaning and she could hear a crackling sound from behind her, so she turned her head and saw a huge chunk of the wall crashing into her and piling on her. She almost instantly projected a dome to push the wall off of her, just in time for her to get blasted by Blood's psychic as soon as she was wide open. Jer kept her pinned to the wall, grinning. "I get to say when you're dismissed, missy," Blood/Jer told her.

"You're... not Brother Blood," Robin grunted, struggling to his feet. "Don't you give in to any of them. You're not the ones you trapped in that gem."

"I quite agree," said a voice. It was the Master of Games, standing in the doorway! "And you have my gem, and I shall take it back," he grinned, "... now that you are weakened." He charged in and was greeted to Overload's electric blasts, some of Fang's venom shots, but he dodged them all. He slid under Jeremy's copy like a baseball player to a base, grabbing his leg to trip him. Jer fell on his front, rolling onto his back dazed. The Master didn't waste time in pinning his neck down with his furry foot, and then tried taking the Amulet back, only to find out it wasn't really Jeremy he tripped up. "He is not here!" he bellowed. Cyborg recovered and began using his arm's built-in computer.

"I got a signal. Up there," he pointed to the next floor where Jeremy slunk away. By now, Jer was resting, laying his head upon Starfire's lap as she massaged the temples of your head.

"Worry not, Master..." she soothed. "You did your best. And now, you may rest. For if the others reach this sanctum, I shall protect you." Jer started to feel guilty about all that he's done to them, and all to help them be a stronger team... The Master now traveled with the Titans down the hallway, following Star's signal. Beast Boy was still sparkling some from that last attack.

"Is all well, shape-shifter?" he smirked.

"Just fine, Hairy," B.B retorted. They soon came upon the bedroom, and Starfire had gently laid her master down as soon as she caught sight of them all.

"My Master is fatigued, and needs the rest." She got off the bed, stood before her friends, and lit up her starbolt spheres with artificial determination in her eyes. "You will not disturb him!"

"Star, listen to yourself," Cyborg tried to reason. "This guy's not your master. He's brainwashed you." Strangely enough, Jeremy was now sure that he crossed too many lines already...

"I must protect Master..." Raven took a step back to prepare astral projection, but Starfire caught that from the corner of her eye. She fired at a corner, churning up dust to distract Rae and make her cough. Robin and Cyborg went into the room, where the leader vaulted over him with his extending rod, and at the same time, he and Cy attacked at the same time with their Sonic Boom combo, only divided. Both attacks hit and had him blasted past Robin and into the wall again. Beast Boy changed into an elephant and took a deep breath in his trunk and then puffed it out to blow away the dust that aggravated her lungs. But Raven, annoyed, deemed it unnecessary in her mind, so she gave him a dull 'thank you, Beast Boy'. Then she tried to prepare again, and he turned into a raven, cawing at Star to draw her fire. And it worked. She started blasting away, trying to ground the teen with emerald epidermis, to no avail. Raven then projected her soul into her mind, trying to reason with her from inside.

'Starfire, this has gone far enough. Jeremy is not your master.'

'Jeremy is powerful. And he must be protected.'

'Don't forget. You have greater power than him. You're a Teen Titan: you help people and help defeat our enemies.' At that moment, part of her was starting to resist.

'But... He... No!'

'Star. You have to trust me. You're not anyone's master. Meditate with me.' Raven's soul reached her hands out to hold Star's. She was a bit ****, staring into Raven's violet eyes. 'It's alright.' She closed her eyes, and Starfire mimicked her. 'Find your center. Focus your energy. Azarath Metrion Zinthos. Azarath Metrion Zinthos.' The two of them continued chanting while Star's body was motionless, frozen. Starfire was coming back to her senses and the Master used the drama of the moment to try claiming his amulet again. But Jer extended Fang's spider parts and pushed him away.

"We're tired, not helpless," he defended, sitting up and then standing tall. His eyes were overflowing with electricity as he channeled Cinderblock's arms once more. But he caught sight of Starfire rising into the air, speaking Raven's chant aloud once; Then a second time, which was more determined; Finally, her third chant broke her free and Raven returned to her body. Star and Raven floated above the boys; the Teen Titans were back! Star got her **** for being enslaved by hurling one starbolt after the other, and Jer hovered at an attempt to avoid getting hit, as he hadn't recovered fully. Then she quickly hit him with her eye blasts, interpreting where he would go. After getting blasted, she flew up and restrained his arms behind his back. He tried electrocuting her, but she grunted and groaned as she resisted with all of her might. "We will not be stopped, Starfire."

"They will be stopped, Jeremy! With your help!" she reasoned. 10 seconds later, with one huge motion of willpower, Jer tore off the necklace and grunted loudly as he threw it down. Robin, Cyborg, Starfire, and even Jeremy used their combined abilities to completely destroy the gem, with a flash of light as a result. When the light faded, all of Jeremy's still-frozen captives surrounded them, and Jer was gently helped to the ground. However, he just sank to his knees and almost lost it.

"I'm sorry... Sorry..." he panted, then he sniffled, trying not to cry from the crimes he committed; it was so much for him. One their way back to Jump City, they already had the French police take Jer and the Master away. Beast Boy spoke out first,

"Dude...!" he sighed. "I'm seriously ready for some couch time."

"But what about Jeremy?" Star asked, concerned. "He will be... all right?"

"Well, they say power corrupts, Star," Robin explained, "and the most terrible things people can do are because they meant well."

"Let's just hope," Raven concluded, "that people never try to bring us too close together." And the T-ship continued tearing through the air into the sunset, back home better than ever.
