The Elevator

Wanting to get this over with as quickly as possible, Sue started jogging down the hallway as quickly as she dared without drawing attention to herself only stopping momentarily to peer around the corner where she saw the elevator. None of the Baxter Building's workers were in sight and she took this chance to run to the lift and furiously pushed the call button.

Jumping up and down on the spot in anxiety while the elevator took way too long to reach her level. Sue kept looking around to make sure she was still alone until the lift arrived. Once it did, Sue was relieved to see that it was empty, also realising that the idea of other occupants had never even entered her mind. She rushed inside and pressed the button for the top floor and then repeatedly pressed the close door button breathing a sigh of relief as the doors shut.

Taking a moment to relax Sue started to think about Reed and Johnny who were probably still looking for her and (after Johnny's accident) might be worried that something had happened to her. The idea that they didn't know what happened made Sue feel a little guilty but she couldn't confront them in her current state. Though Sue would be lying if she said she wasn't looking forward to some payback on her brother for her harrowing experience but getting clothes remained the priority.

Sue was so caught up in her own thoughts that she almost didn't notice when the elevator stopped, 4 floors below her destination. It has to be Ben, he probably heard the commotion downstairs and wants to check it out. She couldn't believe that he was about to see her completely naked and there wasn't anything she could do, nowhere to go.

'Wait' Sue thought _'if i could figure out how to trigger my powers, being seen wouldn't be a problem'. The only problem being that she didn't know how and she only had seconds to figure it out. 'Back in the lab when Johnny burst in, I was scared and humiliated. If I focus on that fear I might be able to disappear. The doors started to open and with all her willpower, Sue focused on her invisibility 'well, it's now or never'._
