The E.S.S Argonaut

"Jesus, would you look at the size of that thing, its got to be at least 300 meters long!"

"It says here the Argonaut is a government research and exploration vessel" Veronica looked up from her screen as they passed along side the larger ship.

"Doesn't look like anyone's home. I got almost no heat from this thing, i'm reading close to minus 200 in there."

"All the escape pods have been launched, i'll prep the suits."

"Good girl" Allen smiled.

"But mom, why cant i go with you and dad?"

"Leo i'm not going over this again" Veronica said as they carried two space suits out to the airlock. "We need you to watch your sister and the ship while were gone. Besides, who's going to radio if we need help?"

"Mom there's no one out there." her son set down the suit and waved his arms. "Were in the middle of friggen no where!"

"Ugh, look", she stopped. "Your father and I will go in first to make sure its safe. After that we'll all go over together and check it through, okay."

"Just be careful mom," her daughter Dot peeked her head around the corner from her room, her lanky appearance accentuated by the denim overalls and big oval glasses she wore.

"We'll be fine sweetie," she gave her daughter a reassuring smile. "Just watch those engine coils don't overheat and keep a close eye on the comms in case another rescue shows up."

"Hon, were lined up, i'm docking us in now," her husbands voice buzzed over the intercom.
