The Detention Center

The guard leads Maya, Melody and I into an enclosed room divided into two halves by a large wall with glass window in it. On the other side of the glass, a young raven-haired woman is sitting in a chair, looking anxiously at the clock on the wall. As we walk in, she turns to look at us and immediatly smiles.

"Cordelia!" Melody exclaims, rushing past me.

"Melody!" Cordelia calls back through a series of small holes in the glass meant for communication. They press their hands against the glass as if they could touch each other. After a few seconds, Cordelia turns to face me. Memories of my old classmate came back to me. Man, she has gotten even more sexy!

"Mr. Wright! Thank you so much for coming!" She clasps her hands together. "It means so much to me."

"I'm glad to help...Cordelia." I give her a grin. "You sure have changed since college."

"You...you remember me?" Cordelia asked, shocked.

"Well, I..."

"Her certainly did, Cordy" Melody butts in. "He couldn't wait to help an old friend." She gives me a wink as she finishes up her interjection.

"Oh, you have no idea how relieved that makes me." Cordelia exhaled sharply.

"I just need to ask one question, Cordelia, and I apologize for being blunt." You look her in the eyes. "Did you kill Harry Flynn?"

"No. Of course not." Cordelia said. "I could never." I stare her down for a few moments. No reaction from the Magatama, so no hidden secrets. And I didn't detect any hints of lying in her face. I look over at Maya, who just nods at me. I nod back and turn to Cordelia again.

"Works for me. I'll take your case." I said. Cordelia sighed and wiped her brow.

"Thank God." She said. "I was worried for a moment. Now, I only have a limited time here, so if you have any questions, now's the time to ask."

"No time like the present, Nick!" Maya agrees.
