The Champion of Enderlin

Everyone visibly relaxes as the enderman teleports away. Kim swiftly turns around and kneels near the bedframe Jeff lay in. His skin was smoking, "Are you okay?! What did that thing just do to you?" He responds through gritted teeth, "I...don't know....but..." The smoking stops and he feels a sense of strength, of well being far beyond what he had felt before, "But I feel...great! Better than I've ever felt. I think that enderman....healed me."

Lazlo and Martha look at each other then back at Jeff and Kim. Lazlo responds, "I've heard tales of this happening. It's very rare for someone to be given the power of a diety and survive. Even rarer for one of the dieties' minions to aid their chosen champion. It is true that only one kind of halfling can be present in one plane of existance, but champions of the gods are extremely rare..."

He looks at Martha and they both stand and walk towards Jeff as he sits on the edge of the bedframe. Jeff's now aqua eyes fill with surpise as they give shallow bows. Lazlo's face is humble, "It is...an honor. I never thought that I would be alive to see such a being, let alone one that has aided my clan. It is truly an honor." Jeff's smiles, "You don't have to do that, Lazlo. Besides, we still have to go mining for minerals. I feel like I'm ready."

Lazlo's sharp laughter fills the house, "Well, let's be off then." He looks at his wife with a toothy grin, "I would offer you all spots on this trip but I know you and the kids never liked mining. What you can do for me is have a nice lunch and a warm bed ready when we get back. I'll bring you all something nice."

Lester had refurnished the door and placed it back on the frame as Jeff, Lazlo, and Kim approached. Lazlo called over T'salam before saying, "I just want you kids to know I'm proud of you. Dam proud. Although I wouldn't agree with becoming halflings, I'm proud of you surviving and prospering, like anyone in our family should." Lazlo and his two kids have a family embrace. The three gesture towards Martha, who smiles and joins in. Kim and Jeff stand to the side. The four look towards the pair with Lazlo saying, "We'll help you get your village back and your people saved. Have no fear of that."
