The Brunette

You wander over to the brunette.

She doesn't notice you. To busy with her nose in her book.

You clear your throat, "Excuse me... Mind if I sit in the shade next to you?"

She looks up from her book somewhat annoyed. Then after seeing who it is... her face brightens and she smiles at you.

"Sure... I didn't mean to be hogging all the shade... let me move my purse out of the way."

"Thanks..." you mutter a reply and sit down next to her.

She goes back to reading but you can tell she is not into it.

"So what's a pretty lady doing reading a book on such a beautiful day?"

It's a bad come-on line but it's worked before.

She smiles and puts the book down.

"I'm a para-legal.... this is all past court history that my boss wants me to bone up on."

"Bone up?" you raise your eyebrows.

"Oh my god...." she laughs at you.

"It's only Thursday... when do you need to be done?"

"I've got until Monday... just wanted to get a good start." She uncrosses her legs to stretch.

"Besides.... nothing else to do..."

You smile at her... time to make your move.
