The Blue Lions

You go downstairs and to the Blue Lions Classroom. You see the professor talking with the 8 students:

Dimitri, Prince of Faerghus.

Dedue, Dimitri's loyal vassal.

Felix, bloodlustful warrior.

Sylvain, womanizer.

Ingrid, knight in practice.

Ashe, taught by Lord Lonato.

Mercedes, from the Academy of Magic.

And Annette, from the Academy as well.

And then there's you, who has had no training before. Hell, even Sylvain knows how to... "Penetrate with his lance", if you catch my drift. You don't even know what side of the spear is the pointy one. This is going to be juuuust fine.

Still, something seems off, as always. The people you're looking at seem... Different. Slightly more mature or tall than normal, like if they were just a couple years older. You estimate... Over eighteen years old. Wow. Isn't that just convenient.

You walk to the students. Dimitri, seeing you come, explains to the class who you are.

"So, you were saved by the professor as well? First the boar, now you... Impressive" Says Felix.

"I don't remember seeing you near the monastery, or in town. What was your name again? Asked Ashe, curious.

"I am Sam Von Samson. Just call me Sam, though. I know some people can be a little... Tiresome when talking about their family name." Ferdinand Von Aegir passed by, just to prove your point. I sometimes think the goddess treats reality like a big joke.

"Oh, that's right. I'm gonna be your new partner. I hope we can learn a lot of each other." Everyone seemed puzzled for a second. Then, everyone gave you their best smile, except Dedue, who really isn't a smiler, and Felix, who honestly didn't care one way or the other unless you were good with a blade.

"That's... That's great, Sam!" Said Dimitri, still a bit confused "But why this, so suddenly?"

"I'll tell you why" Seteth had just appeared. "After a short talk with him, I saw a great deal of potential in him. And given that your professor is new, I figured a little extra work in comparison to normal would serve as a good test. Do _not_ dissapoint me" He told Byleth... Or maybe you?

"By the way, there were no free bedrooms. So you will have to sleep in the same room as one of your fellow students. Don't worry, there is a spare bed. So, who shall be our volunteer?" The class looked at each other.

"Well, I can't accept you in" Said Sylvain, breaking the silence "It would be weird if I invited some girl in. You would have to go away those nights. How about you, Felix?"

"No." Direct and to the point.

"Well, Sam" Started Dimitri "I would be happy to-"

"Your Highness, I can't allow it" Said Dedue "He is but a stranger. I won't let him sleep alongside you, when you're most susceptible to attacks"

"Sigh. All right, Dedue. It's better you don't get him into your room, then... Not because I mistrust him, but because I feel you would be scrutinizing his every step whenever you're both in the room."

"That's correct, your highness." Wow. You would've said no either way, then.

"I would love to be your roommate" Said Ashe "But my siblings come from time to time, and they sleep in my room. The rooms aren't exactly big, so... My apologies." Poor guy, he's way too nice. You just want to hug him and pet him, but that'd be oh so slightly inappropriate.

"Well then, that leaves us three!" Says Mercedes, with her motherly smile. "Annette, Ingrid and me. Well, unless one of you minds."

"Well... I don't see why not. It may be fun." Said Ingrid. "I always wanted to have a roommate."

"I don't mind either!" Said Annette "We can make sweets together, and talk, and play games! Oh, this is gonna be fun!"

And then, Seteth shouted that a woman and a man shan't sleep in the same room, as that could lead to sin and... Wait, he's not doing that. Huh. Well, if you don't complain I won't.
