Chapter 59 by LoversOfLewdness LoversOfLewdness

Who was it?

The Blind Bandit herself.

"What are you doing here, twinkle toes?" The woman looked down at the young Avatar who was laying in the bush, and he quickly jumped up. Trying to not sound too desperate, he started to explain why he had chased her down and how he had found her family estate.

He started rambling a bit, actually feeling a bit nervous around her. "What Aang is trying to say, he's the Avatar and he needs a teacher to stop the Fire Lord from taking over the entire world!" She felt like that should be more than enough to convince anyone, but the Blind Bandit didn't seem to care. "Not my problem... Guards!" She called out, and immediately they could hear the sound of footsteps approaching. As fast as they could, they made their way out of there and hid.

"Is everything okay, Toph?" One of the guards asked, and she smiled innocently. "It was probably just a squirrel..." She answered, following them inside as she glanced over at Aang, who was still watching her from the roof of a shed.

Toph, huh... So that was her real name. He wasn't going to give up that easily!

Later that night...

Toph Beifong had grown up in a very protective family. She was born blind, and her family had never given her the opportunity to really take care of herself. However, she had learned to do so anyhow. Learned how to see anyhow, and became the best Earthbender there was. Her parents wouldn't know any of this. She had tried to address it in the past, but they just brushed it off like it was nothing. Like it couldn't be true. By the time she was 18, she still felt stuck at home, and going to the tournaments was the only time she felt like herself. And then, earlier that day, some hunk came over and cheated to win her title of champion.

She had every reason to be very angry with him, and she didn't say a word during dinner.

"Excuse me, sir, but you have a visitor." She heard one of the servants say politely. Her father didn't take that news very well as he snapped at the servant like it was his personal fault that they had unannounced guests. "Uh, it's the Avatar, sir." The servant continued carefully, knowing he was treading a thin line by interrupting his boss but knowing that he couldn't just send the Avatar home either.

Toph was shocked. That stupid boy and his bratty friends had actually dared to show up to her family dinner! Of course, her parents didn't hesitate and invited them inside, setting up the large table and filling it up with food for them. She was annoyed to say the least, especially when he started bringing up Earthbending. The conversation topic had shifted to the war, and Aang revealed that he needed a master to teach him. He rejected the suggestion of Master Yu, telling Toph's father that the man wouldn't work for him. He needed someone different...

"Master Yu has been teaching Toph since she was a little girl!" Her father said, proudly yet somehow he looked sad at the same time.

"Then she must be a great Earthbender! Probably good enough to teach someone else..." Aang started, but he was hit in the knee by a rock. He grinned softly as Toph was sitting across from him, knowing his plan was working. She seemed to like these games, he had seen it in the arena until he actually defeated her. His hand slid forwards, sending a little tornado under the table and making it blow up Toph's dress playfully. Nobody noticed what was going on, and they just continued talking about her. How she was still learning the basics, and how she would probably never master Earthbending due to her blindness... "I'm sure she's better than you think she is!" Aang continued, but the attempt to flatter Toph was only rewarded by another firm punch to his knees. It caused him to bulge over, his face slamming right into his bowl of soup - which luckily wasn't extremely hot anymore.

Aang needed a moment to regain himself, but then pretended to sneeze. Toph received the same treatment, a bowl of soup landing right into her face - the liquid dripping down to the small amount of cleavage which her formal white dress showed off.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" Toph stood up, slamming her hands onto the table.

"WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?" Aang called out back, standing up as well as he stared right into Toph's eyes. Why did the fight feel so sensual to him... He could tell that Toph felt the same, and his eyes softened up a bit as she stood up and rushed out of the room. Fleeing into the garden.

There fell a silence over the dining room for a moment, and Mrs. Beifong tried to make the situation less awkward by inviting the Avatar and his friends to the living room to have another drink together and talk about the reason for Aang's visit. That reason had just fleed into the garden by herself, and Aang felt genuinely bad for perhaps taking it too far. "I should go check on your daughter, Mrs. I'm sure my friends will appreciate the company!" He shot Sokka and Katara a look, letting them know they should keep the parents and their servants busy while he looked around for Toph.

After taking care of that, Aang ran outside to find the lovely Earthbender, hoping he didn't entirely ruin his chances.

Where did he find Toph?
