The Amazons...
He was close now. As he rode the vines and leapt from branch to branch, Korak knew that his prey was near. He had been tracking them for 6 days now, and in that time they had killed 11 innocent people. Their bloodlust had no specific target. No agenda. They had slaughtered anyone in their path. The first had been a group of botanists, three harmless men who were in the jungle simply to study and celebrate its beauty. Two days later an attack on a nearby village had left five dead, including two women.
The latest incident had seen the slaughter of three men and a woman bringing food and medical supplies to another of the Jungle's villages. Nothing had been taken except the lives of those wishing to help others. Korak had found the food and medicines left discarded by the bodies, as though to highlight the utter senselessness of the killing.
The memory of their bloodied corpses strengthened Korak's resolve, and he pushed himself harder. His muscled body sliced the air as swiftly as lightning, instinctively knowing when to reach for a nearby vine or to vault from the trees. Despite his great speed, Korak's keen eye was still able to scan the ground beneath him, picking up on minute details that allowed him to follow his target as easily as if they had left a trail of white paint behind them.
Releasing a vine at the apex of its swing, Korak somersaulted onto a large branch, nearly 20 feet above the base of the tree from which it grew. He crouched low, his feet gripping the branch as easily as if he were a sloth. Through the dense foliage of the jungle, he saw her.
She was not his only bounty. From the nature of the murders and clues he had pieced together over these past days tracking those responsible, Korak knew that there were at least five, possibly even six killers. Amazons.
Normally, the Amazons of the jungle were a peaceful race. Fierce and powerful warriors yes, but violent only when absolutely necessary. His Father Tarzan himself was a friend to the Amazons and had fought alongside their Queen, the mighty Gabriella, on many occasions. This group, however, had turned against Gabriella's peaceful ways. For reasons Korak could not comprehend, they were now using their fighting skills to **** the innocent. And he would tolerate that no longer.
From his vantage point, Tarzan could see that that the Amazon below him was alone. She was crouched alongside a river, filling skins with water. The others were presumably making camp nearby.
Descending through the branches of the trees with the natural ability of the apes that had raised him, Korak approached with woman in total silence. As he grew closer, he was able to see her more clearly. Like all Amazons, she was extremely voluptuous yet athletic. The scant fur bikini she wore did little to hide her muscular frame. Her curly dark hair hair fell past her shoulders and her face was astonishing. Her Ebony body glistened under the sun...
Korak had to make a decision how to approach this...
