Chapter 3
by Alum
Well, three choices...
That buffet smells good...
I make my way to the buffet and my mouth waters and my eyes relish the thought of all this exotic food just.... oh my God! That's the biggest lobster from planet Agro, and its freshly caught!
I take hold of all I can on the plate and then return to gobble it all down. Now the room spins a little and I return to my room for the remainder of the ride home.
...
On a spaceport on Kronos, I look around for Kori, she must have run off so mad at me she didn't want to see me. Oh well.
The space port is bustling with life and a crowd of people just anxious to get to their next destination... or they were bums that sought shelter in the large spaceport.
I look around slightly expecting the family to greet me, but Namil, my younger sister, is getting married in a couple of months to that red maned traitor, Tavion Khemaunt. Why dad ever let that man return to our village, let alone our clan meets after what he and his family has done to their own kind!
Calm down, now is not the time to get so angry. It should be a happy day, I have to be out in the war while they're getting married. Should be victory enough for now.
BUMP!!
I ran straight into Namil and her friend, Phi Ophre. We all went to high school together, Phi was the most athletic girl I knew. She'd always have a pair of bats in hand, foam sort of bats for a struggle sport to help simulate fights or to settle rivalries. It looks like she hasn't kicked the habit either.
"Hiya!" Phi lept forth and kicked me straight in the gut. I almost regret now all that lobster I ate, but hold it in, hold it in. "Rohland you dirty bastard, you were suppose to be here half an hour ago!"
"Yeah, being the big brother means you've got to set a good example for all us youngsters and your many nieces and nephews to come!" Namil's words were almost just like that kick in the gut. I don't want to think about how her and that red mane will go at it like animals, making baby after baby just to spite me.
"Damn it Phi, don't do that." I muttered in pain a bit and then pulled myself together, "There was an asteroid field we had to bypass, so we were a bit longer."
"What ever, now you've got to treat us to lunch!" Phi exclaimed. She seemed angrier than usual, her bright brown hair was all tied up into a bun that let a little bit of strands fly off and she had a pair of head phones around her neck, below she wore sort of the usual tank top and knee length shorts. Namil was wearing more traditional clothing, buckskins and the adorning of a Nutainian bride-to-be.
"And what if I don't want to take you girls to eat? What if I'm a little tired from the trip and the shoe you left in my gut?" I remarked and then groaned slightly.
"Phi." Namil looked at the other girl a bit unpleased. Why that pompous spoiled rotten bi-
"Rohland, you damn pussy, you take me and your dearest sister to eat or I swear I will castrate you in your sleep!"
Well, I could easily overpower the two girls, hogtie them and place them in the taxi to go home. I could take them to eat. Or convince them against the idea entirely, mom might get disappointed if we don't eat her food at home.
Crap, this girl always wants to get her way. What do I need to do?
