Testing Summer's Loyalty

Master led Summer to his car. "Do I make you my chauffeur," he asked. "Or just have you stare adoringly at me as I drive home? Decisions, decisions?"
Summer waited patiently for her Master to decide.
"Let's have you audition. Give me your most loving look."
Summer loved her master more than life itself. But her job wasn't to love him. It was to look like she loved him. She was a trained actress, and put all her love and all her years of experience conveying emotion into that smoldering look. "Okay, Summer, just keep that up the whole ride home." Summer sat next to her master contentedly, continuing her loving gaze. Every now and then he would look at her and smile, which was all the reward she would ever need for a lifetime of service.
Summer dutifully followed her Master into his house.
"Tell me what you are," he ordered.
"I'm your ****, Master."
Doctor Crane gestured towards a chair, and Summer sat down. "Tell me your most embarrassing secret."
"I came when Tara **** me," Summer said instantly.
"Tell me your deepest desire."
"To serve you."
"Perfect," Dr. Crane said. "Then you'll have no compunctions about slapping yourself."
Summer slapped herself across the face.
Doctor Crane pointed to a potted plant. "Go ahead and swallow a handful of dirt."
Summer walked over and scooped up some dirt. The put it in her mouth and ate it.
"How did it taste?" the doctor asked.
"Earthy?" Summer answered. That wasn't a good description. "Like my feet after I've been walking outside a lot."
"Eat another handful, this time you'll find it tastes like strawberries."
Summer grabbed another handful of dirt and swallowed it. "It does, Master. You're so powerful."
Doctor Crane looked his hypnotized thrall deep in the eyes. "You would do anything for me, wouldn't you, ****?"
"Anything, you want, Master."
Doctor Crane opened a cabinet and handed her a gun. "Point this towards your head an pull the trigger."
Summer knew what would happen. Her Master was ordering her to end her life. She had a lot to live for: her career, her family, her Master. But she needed to obey. She put the gun to her temple and squeezed the trigger. It clicked, unloaded. The Summer fell to her knees in gratitude.
