Temporary retreat

Uncertain of the number of goblins and hearing voices inside the little fort speak up, Leraje made the decision to retreat. She'd taken down the goblins so far with only minor injuries, but that was due to the element of surprise. If she tried to take too many on at once, she could find herself overwhelmed.

So Leraje retreated back into the trees, watching from a distance as a couple more goblins ran out of the front gate and saw the fallen spears of the defeated guards. "Ah damn, you think they're dead?" one asked.

"I dunno, but Mother might. Let's go tell her," the other responded.

"Oh, that's a good idea! She's smart! Let's go!"

"She is, but you aren't. One of us needs to stand guard or whoever got the others could walk right in." The goblin picked up one of the spears and handed it to the one he'd assigned to guard duty, and then picked up the other to bring to the mysterious Mother.

That left one goblin guard at the gate, with no sign of another coming to join him.

Leraje had a few options. She could repeat her earlier tactic since it hadn't failed so far. While they were focused on the gate, she could circle the compound to see if there was a place she could sneak into. Or she could try to test out some other kinds of magic...
