Looking at his confused mother he said. “I told you all about it. Don’t tell me you forgot?”

Jess’s brow furrowed as she tried to think. Seeing Derek watching her she said. “I didn’t forget. It’s a little late at night for her to be tutoring you though.”

Derek threw his hands up angrily and said. “I knew it. You never listen to me. She’s a live-in tutor mom.” Derek could see the surprise on his mom’s face and hit the command button again saying. “I wish you would show me a little more consideration sometimes.”

Jess felt conflicted as she looked at her son. Feeling bad for not paying more attention to him she nodded and said. “Alright I admit I haven’t been very attentive lately. I have a lot going on at work.” Looking at Jackie she extended her hand and said. “Hi. I am Jess McCoy. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Jackie looked just as confused as Derek’s mom as she took her hand and shook it saying. “Jackie Smith. Thank you for the opportunity.”

Derek smiled as he hit the clean button and said. “Why don’t you get her room ready while I show her around.” Seeing his mother nod before she turned and walked away, he smiled as he felt his phone vibrate. Holding up his phone he read the message the app had sent him.

Derek chuckled as he led her upstairs and said. “As far as my mother is concerned you will have your own room. But in reality, you are going to be spending your nights warming my bed.” When they reached his room, he ushered her in before he closed and locked the door. Looking back at her he saw a worried look on her face and asked. “What’s the matter?”
