Tell her what happened at Meghan's and confess... But...

"Melody," you whisper, "I realize this isn't the best time what with the whole Keith thing, but I have to tell you something, if I don't, my heart's going to explode..." you finally get the courage to look her in the eye, but when you look down, her eyes are closed.

"Melody?" You whisper. Nothing. She's asleep! Her breathing's a little quicker, but she's probably still sick. You look up to the ceiling and stare.

"Well... I was at Meghan's today, we were about to go at it when she got an IM. She told me about her friend from her English class. Seems this girl has got a close friend that she secretly harbors a crush for. I feel for this girl because I know how that feels... Well, anyway, this girl's rooming with her friend and there's been sexual tension and stuff.
Meghan tells me the IM says that the girl's really sick and her friend was taking care of her and they almost kissed. Now she's flipping out. It sounded really familiar so I looked at the screenname of the girl. It was Ember13. Your screename Melody.
Well, needless to say, I was stunned. I said your name and Meghan realized I was the roommate. Lucky you IMed her when you did, we were about 2 minutes away from becoming bunny rabbits."

"Anyway I came back as soon as I was able to move again because I needed to tell you something... But... I'm scared to tell you... because even though I know you feel the same... you might change your mind once were together... I'm scared that that will happen and that I'll lose you for good... I'd rather be friends with you then to have you then lose you... I guess that's why I'm afraid... to tell you..

But I was scared you didn't feel the same... and whenever I would get the courage to tell you... well... we were never single at the same time for very long... so I never told you." You put your forehead on hers, her breathing quickens, you think you woke her up, so you sit still. She doesn;t seem to wake up. You relax and close your eyes.

"I wish I could tell you this while you were awake." as sleep overcomes you you quietly whisper: "I love you Melody."

You wake up with empty arms and smell breakfast. You walk into the kitchen and see brittany at the stove.

"Morning..." you say.
"Holy shit Jack! You scared the hell out of me! Sit down!"

you sit at the table as Melody puts a plate full of bacon, eggs and pancakes in front of you.

"I take it you feel better then?" you say as she sits down next to you with her plate.

"Yeah! I woke up in the arms of the greatest guy in the world!" she says as she nibbles on a piece of bacon.

"Really? Where is he? Wait. I thought you slept with me last night? If that wasn't you who was it??" You joke

"Shut up!" she slaps your arm. you both continue to eat.

"Hey, did you talk to me last night after I climbed into bed with you?" she asks nonchalantly.

You **** on the pancake in your mouth. Oh God was she awake?

"Uh.. no why?" you ask lamely

"Oh..." she says. For a split second, she looks dissapointed, but she covers it up with a smile and says "must of been the fever!"

"Must have." you say quietly.

you both finish your meal in silence and sit at the table sipping coffee when, finally Melody says

"Jack..." she says quietly "I heard what you said last night... I was awake for most of it anyway..." she says as she averts her gaze from you to her coffee.

"Why didn't you say something?" you ask. Not too shocked. You figured she knew when she looked upset at breakfast.

"I was scared you were going to tell me something bad..." That's Why she was breathing fast! you say to yourself. She was Bracing herself for more bad news!

"I thought you wanted to move out or something... I didn't hear all of it though! I tried to stay awake but I couldn't!" she says glancing at you for a second then back to her coffee.

"Why would I want to move out? Nevermind. How much did you hear?" You ask cautiously.
