Take the bus

Ashley decided to take a nice bus ride through town. She knew she’d likely get weird stares like she was getting here, but she doubted anyone would actually do anything.

What could go wrong?

Ashley made her way across campus, saying hello and good morning to those she passed, who returned the greetings. She giggled as she walked through the fields all the way to the end of campus.

She stood there at the edge of what was considered campus. She looked forward as the crosswalk, signaling the transition between the campus and the rest of the town. She took a deep breath and walked across, meaning she was officially in town.

It felt exhilarating, and only more so when she continued on her way, passing by people. One even bumped into her arm, and she could very clearly feel it. He apologized, but she wasn’t able to speak, simply gripping her arm and shaking. She shook it off as best she could and kept going.

Eventually she made it to a bus stop. She had her student pass for the bus, so she could go for free, sort of. She sat down, acutely aware of the feeling of her bare butt against the coat as she sat. Two other guys sat there with her, but paid her no mind. The entire time she waited, her legs twitched.

Finally, the bus arrived, and she got on with the two guys. The bus wasn’t very populated, with most people in the the front. She moved to the back and sat down, mostly out of the sight as the guys took a seat near the middle. With that, the doors closed, and the bus went on its way.

Ashley couldn’t believe it! She was riding the bus in just a trench coat!

But...was that enough?
