Take the Longer Path

Kelsey wasn’t going to increase the risk for her. She was not ready to handle any teasing for locking herself outside, at least not more than she needed.

Kelsey made sure her towel was tightly wrapped around her. She made sure to hold on to it too as she walked around the first corner she needed to. The school was longer than it was wide, so the first side she’d have to pass would be the longest. It was a long stretch of usually locked doors, windows, and the football field to her right. She’d have the occasional bush she’d be able to hide behind too.

Kelsey started off slow. She wasn’t about to start running and grab anyone’s attention. When she approached windows, she’d duck down.

The first issue she ran into was a main door. It entered into the hallway, and all the doors were glass. Typically during school hours, you couldn’t enter from outside, unless of course someone was inside to open the door for you. Kelsey of course wasn’t about to knock and have someone help her inside.

She couldn’t see very well into the door, the sun was creating a glare. Yet the next set of classes should have started, and almost everyone would be in a room. Seeing as no one was around, Kelsey gripped her towel and took off running past the doors.

Kelsey made it, and she was starting to think she’d be able to make it there soon at this rate. She was still nervous, but getting at least a little confident.

Kelsey soon made it the end of that side of the building. She was roughly about half the distance she’d need to go to get to the front doors. She could see the baseball field now off to one side, the back field behind the school, and the football field was still to her right.
