Chapter 16 by Indirect Indirect

What's next for Ariane?

Take her home and introduce her to Doe and Linne

Since you have to wait for the panther to grow sufficiently you take Ariane home with you to the tower. You let Doe out as usual and everyone goes downstairs for dinner. Ariane is very interested in Linne, which is exactly why you brought her here. Linne is happy to answer all Ariane's questions about her transformation. She tries to paint everything in a good light, which causes Doe to complain a little. At the same time Doe doesn't grumble too much because she doesn't want to scare Ariane.

All in all you think Ariane is a lot more confident about the whole idea after talking to Linne. She also ends up in front of the fire, Linne lying next to her, gently stroking your first cataur's soft fur while Doe fusses over Linne's tail, which ended up with a few knots of fur in it. Despite all her complaints you know what Doe is thinking - regardless of what she herself thinks of these transformations it's likely to be a boon to Ariane, as it was for Linne. Better to be an exotic oddity that some noble cares about than a nameless ****.

A few days later...

"Are you ready?" you ask Ariane.

"Yes. I mean, it wouldn't matter too much if I wasn't, would it?" she says, looking nervously at the comatose giant panther.

"I could give you some time to calm down," you say. "But practically all the centaurs and cataurs have been quite happy with their new forms."

"Mmmmm," she says, nodding to herself. Then, "Oh, just do it. Rip off the poultice!"

With that you begin. The process doesn't take too long now. You're better at transformations in general and now you've dealt with one cataur so most of the difficult work - figuring out what to do - is already done. Except for a few little differences between lynxes and panthers the only thing that's new is her reproductive system. You banged your head against this over the last few days. Only last night did you finally hit on an idea that solved the last few issues you were worried about.

Simply, you're going to build the eggs and sperm of the 'taurs differently than that of humans. Like humans, they'll carry half the material from the 'taur's human half. But, for their inhuman half the seed will carry a full copy. Then you added some very complicated machinery that does a dance just as life begins. When the sperm and egg combine, before the little egg even divides, your mechanism will do a check.

If a human mates with a centaur then the newly combined egg has two copies of human material, one from each parent, and two copies of the centaur material from one parent. Half the time your new mechanism will toss the centaur material out of the egg, resulting in a normal human child. The other half of the time it keeps those copies, creating a centaur baby. You also add a bit of extra insurance - if the egg was from a woman then you reduce the chance of the baby dividing to form identical twins. For fun, if the egg was from a centaur then you boost the chance of identical twins if the baby is going to end up as a human. You can't do much about fraternal twins - human women with twin centaur babies will just have to get a mage's help.

If two centaurs mate then the new egg will have two copies of the human material and four copies of the centaur specific material. Two of those four copies will always be thrown overboard, resulting in a centaur child with half the material from both parents.

The same exact thing will happen with cataurs and humans, cataurs and cataurs. The part that was causing issues for you was what to do when two different 'taurs mate. But the answer was dead simple - you just make the same mechanism kick in. The difference is that when two of the same 'taur mate it will always discard one half of the 'taur material from each parent so that the two truly cross breed. But when two different types of 'taurs mate you make sure either one parent or the other parent's 'taur material is discarded. That way the child is either one or the other, not some unworkable mutant.

Ariane doesn't have a clue that the warm feeling in her new loins is the feeling of the very first fertile 'taur being created. You will share this new development with Linne when you get home tonight and then with all the centaurs and centauresses over the coming days as you inspect the army's new mounts.

Your second cataur also doesn't know that you've adjusted her cycle to be one and a half months long, rather than just one month. It makes sense for 'taur girls to take longer to prepare their wombs. But you hope it also means that many 'taur girls and their owners or riders will make a mistake. Eventually people will learn about this longer cycle, but you bet a lot of 'taur girls will end up with a baby before that becomes common knowledge.

When you bring the new Ariane back, now 5'1", with reflective amber eyes and coated in fine black fur, both Linne and Doe are eager to greet her. You had Linne prepare a big feast with lots of meat, since you know Ariane's body will need a lot of energy to recover after her transformation. Like Linne she gorges herself. After dinner she ends up laying on the floor, half asleep as your two girls comb her and massage her body.

If you're not mistaken Linne keeps looking at Ariane's large B cups. They were pretty large on her petite human frame and they did try to shrink during the transformation, but you figured the duke might like that part of her quite a lot so you **** them to remain at their original size. There's also a lot of checking of her new maid outfit. You had it designed similarly to Linne's though you had it made in the style of the duke's livery.

The next day you invite duke Kaldrass over to introduce him to Ariane. To say he's pleased is an understatement. He rubs her newly fuzzy ears and gets a deep purr in response. As he leads her back to his carriage Ariane doesn't notice how he's walking. But as a man you do. He's walking like a man who's trying to conceal a rock hard erection.

The real prize for you is the conflicted look on Doe's face when she watches the carriage drive off. Slowly but surely you're getting to her.

What else do the roommates get up to as you work on more centaurs?
