System Status Report

With a series of repeated key-presses you manage to **** the system to a status page. Immediately the screen overflows with a seemingly endless stream of amber warning messages. You stare in fascinated terror as the scroll of errors continues until finally it halts. In its place a blinking "loading" bar appears. You stare dumbstruck at the useless indicator for a few moments before the progress bar jumps to full and the system displays its status log.

The status for everything from propulsion to life-support are all indicating 100% effectiveness. The only indication anything is wrong lies in the chronology sub-system. The computer seems to be unsure of the current date, and so is attempting to defrost and maintain the stasis. A few agonizingly slow clicks later you discover the chronology system can only be reached from the main bridge. You sigh and return the system to its main menu. You turn and prepare to head for the bridge only to freeze completely as you notice movement out of the corner of your eye.

Paralyzing fear quickly gives way to curiosity as you realize others must also have defrosted. You decide to initiate the contact, "H-he-hello?" You cough as your lungs and throat readjust to speaking. Finally you manage to continue your greeting, "Hello, I'm John. Who are you?"

The figure steps forward into the light of the nearby pod and you emit a soft gasp as her distinctly female figure is revealed. Your previously sluggish brain lights up with activity as it forms initial opinions.
