Chapter 14 by Manbear Manbear

What is Winlay's choice?

Switch times

Winlay swallowed hard and looked earnestly into Mika's eyes as she whispered quietly.

"I'd like to switch with you Mika. If you don't mind." Mika's bright smile was all the reassurance that Winlay needed. If anything, Mika seemed more relieved than Winlay at her decision.

"Of course I don't mind Winlay!" Mika laughed "That's why I offered." Now get some sleep, we both have a big day tomorrow. "I wouldn't worry about the High Priest either Winlay, who knows how things will look with the new day."

Whether it was Mika's offer to meet with the High Priest in her place, the intensity of the orgasm she had experienced or just the warmth and security of sleeping in Mika's arms Winlay slept better that night than she had since she left her village nearly a month before.

When she woke Mika was already awake and going through her morning yoga routine of stretches and posing. Light from the small window high on the wall sparkled in Mika's golden curls and Winlay watched contentedly from the warmth of the blankets as her friend stretched her arms and legs in seemingly impossible poses. Mika's lithe body was absolutely beautiful and Winlay found herself recalling the intimacy of the night before and just how smooth and soft Mika's skin had felt under her fingers.

Would the nature of her relationship with Mika change after what happened in bed last night? Winlay didn't want to ruin her friendship, but she wasn't sure she wanted to continue the sexual explorations that they had begun. Would Mika expect to sleep with her every night? Would she want her to lick her that way again? Or would she be as embarrassed as Winlay felt as she remembered everything that they had done. Mika was nearing the end of her usual workout and suddenly Winlay felt unsure of what she should say or do.

Winlay closed her eyes and tried to even out her breathing but Mika wasn't fooled even for a minute.

"Good morning sleepy-head." She greeted Winlay cheerfully. "The Morning Blessings are going to be recited in about twenty minutes. We'd better plan on being there after we skipped the evening prayers last night." If Mika felt any of Winlay's awkwardness it didn't show in her voice or movements and soon Winlay was confident that she and Mika could still be friends.

The two young initiates dressed in their grey robes and headed for the convent's chapel. The great Hall of Praise formed most of the Eastern wall of the compound and the chapel caught the early morning light in its magnificent stained glass windows. The hall was easily big enough to seat all of the convent's inhabitants and there were nearly one-hundred city-folk crowded into the hall to hear the morning prayers chanted by the convent choir.

After a breakfast of stewed barley mash sweetened with honey and cream Winlay volunteered to help clean the breakfast dishes and chop vegetables for the midday meal. Mika hesitated for a few seconds before whispering to Winlay that she had better prepare for her meeting with Beldan. The two quickly agreed to meet for lunch so Winlay could hear how the interview went.

The noon-time bells rang cheerfully as Winlay waited for Mika to appear but as the lunch hour passed and she saw no sign of her friend Winlay became more and more concerned about what could have happened to her.

Does Mika finally show up? Or follow Mika's storyline and see how her meeting went?
