“Mom!” I called, and she turned. I curled my finger towards me, and she started splashing towards us.

Jaime turned to me, panicked.

“Are you ratting me out?” he accused.

“In a way. But I think you’ll enjoy it.” I winked. Jaime looked very nervous as Mom came up onto the beach, and gave me an uncertain smile.

“What’s wrong, honey?” she asked. I patted Jaime on the back.

“My friend here has been admiring you for a while. Why don’t you help him relieve some stress?” I grinned. Both pairs of eyes looking at me went wide. Mom glanced awkwardly at Jaime, and Jaime glanced awkwardly at Mom. I pushed the two towards the tents. Then I scanned the lake, and saw Daniela.

“Daddy’s coming!” I whooped as I ran towards her.
