Surprise!

Adam walked in the apartment to the surprise of his life. The place was shining spotless, he could hardly recognise it as our apartment. This was clear by the reaction on his face as he opened the door and looked around.

Then he looked towards me and he had this little smirk out the side of his mouth that made me think he had something else going on in his mind, until I remembered what I was wearing and why that might have given him that idea.

“Well it looks like I made the right call Jonah, you certainly scrub up ok and I’m not just talking about this sparkling apartment, but I have to say - this girly work certainly does seem to suit you - I mean just look at this place! It’s never looked so good, you’ve outdone yourself which makes me wonder if it’s time to step things up a notch…”

Adam finished speaking and left me hanging with that rather ominous thought of what ‘stepping it up’ would look like exactly. A thought which would definitely fester. Adam walked into his room to drop his stuff off and was astounded at what he found, which I could tell from the audible “wow” I could hear coming from him as he entered.

I let Adam settle in for a moment and went back to watching tv for a bit, feeling i had earned it after all my hard work today. This meant I never heard Adam heading into my bedroom either until about 10 minutes later when he called me in there.
