Chapter 3 by RichardBob

Who do you follow?

Sung Ryung, boldly walking in the front door.

Sung Ryung sighed as she watched the other girls creeping around to look tentatively up at the old imposing stone mansion. She KNEW there wasn't anyone inside, the signs on the fence and the old rusted chains meant no one came and went from here. They'd all be out in the cold nervously looking at windows while she'd have the run of the place, and maybe find some cool stuff or interesting old rooms!

The old, heavy oak door was set with rough iron into the stone, but it swung open remarkably easily! It wasn't even locked, this place had clearly been broken into before and was not gonna be dangerous! The stupid stories about people 'disappearing' here were all just dumb ghost stories meant to spook pledges, but she wasn't afraid of silly superstitions.

or, she wasn't, until the door swung shut behind her with a resounding clang as soon as she stepped past the landing. With slight panic in her breath, she ran to check the door, but it wouldn't budge. It was firmly wedged in place. She text Sam and Hannah, trying to tell them what happened, but in the next few minutes all she got was a laughing emoji and a ghost emoji from Sam, and Hannah angrily telling her off for trying to scare her! She didn't want to look bad to her sorority sisters, so she ventured off to look for a way out, telling herself that it was just a dumb, old door and she had nothing to worry about.

Walking up a large double-wide staircase in the main hall, she heard what sounded like boots running on the floor. Frozen with fear she waited for a few moments, then curiosity took over, and she moved towards the room the sound had come from. It was a small bedroom, with books stacked all along the walls in large bookcases and a small but ornate bed in one corner. The door here too swung shut behind her, but she hardly noticed. Ahead, she saw on the ground a trail of shoe prints in the dust, leading to a small hole in the wall that lead to the next bedroom. Curious, she headed over and stuck her head inside. It was at an awkward height, she had to crawl forward to get her head and torso into the hole. Looking around on the other side, she could see no bootprints at all in the other room. She was about to pull herself back anyways, when the sound of boots came from behind her in the room, and was a masked figure enter the room where her head was!

What should she do?
