"You got five seconds to save your game, or I'm just going to yank it out of your hand. Good! Now you leave that tablet right there and come back with me."

Newt grumbled most of the way back to the cabin until Sean snapped out, "If I wanted to be alone while you play games, then I wouldn't have invited you along!" Seeing the hurt expression on his friend's face, he more calmly added, "Look, I just think you need to get out and talk to people more, okay? Maybe even work on talking to girls. Whitney and Lacey have boyfriends, so look at it like there's no pressure to talk to them like they were already your friends. Hell, maybe you can even help me with Ramsey if you could say more than a few words."

"Fine, Mom. I swear you two must sit around and discuss how to run my life," he complained as they climbed the deck stairs to the sunroom. "I'll try, Sean, but I can't promise anything."

Entering the cabin from the sunroom, Sean noticed Rachel Stratton talking to another equally gorgeous older woman in the kitchen. "It's not your job to tell him secrets about his friends' parents. Do I als--"

"Do I also need to remind you of the cheerleader code? We don't tell others our secrets," admonished Rachel.

"Fine!" the dark-haired woman sighed out loudly. After a couple of moments, she peered over each of her shoulders before turning back to look at Sean and said in a stage whisper, "Annette was the squad slut."

"Gabriela Maria Ariza-Lockett! How could you?" her best friend chided. "Maybe I should tell Sean about some of your escapades. You weren't too far behind Annette, you know."

"Rachel!" she shrieked playfully, covering Sean's ears with her hands for several seconds.
