Sue finds a strange spring

Sue shook her head and thanked the mer-man before heading into the jungle once again. She wasn?t sure of his intentions and so wanted to find out more about her location before she committed to anything.

As Sue went deeper, she began to notice odd creatures that looked straight out of mythology! There were winged snakes, scaly hided gorillas, dog creatures with tiger stripes, and many others that were a mish-mash of native wild life. Sue was reminded of mythical griffins and chimeras. Perhaps she had come across some place where a fantasy world had crossed over.

After traveling some more, Sue came across a path that led into a small glade that contained a bubbling spring. Looking around, Sue stepped invisibly into the glade. The area was quiet and cool, with a number of footprints of different animals around the spring.

Feeling just somewhat thirsty, Sue knelt by the pool and took a small amount into her hands and sipped. The water was cool and refreshing and Sue?s skin tingled at the coldness on her skin. Taking several handfuls, Sue refreshed herself and headed out of the glade.

Unbeknownst to Sue, the water of the spring had indeed been heavily enchanted. Acting as an aphrodisiac and fertility enhancer, the water had been the cause of the numerous cross-breeds in the area. Animals of different species could mate and reproduce and the offspring could reproduce naturally within their species. The water also had a non-aggression zone around it so there would be no natural selection risking damaging it.
