Stuart goes to ask Jason to turn down the music

Kayla gently but firmly urged Suart to go next door and literally face the music. She felt it was important for him to interact with their new neighbor before his anxiety got any worse. Besides, Jason was probably a completely different person now - she wanted him to realise he was worrying about nothing.

With a departing kiss, Stuart stoically left their apartment like a soldier heading off to war. She suppressed a giggle as the door closed. He was always so dramatic!

A few seconds later, she heard Stuart knocking, followed by Jason's door opening. It was difficult to hear over the music, but it sounded like Jason was doing most of the talking. Then she heard a loud slapping sound.

Suddenly feeling nervous, Kayla fidgeted with a strand of her long, dark hair. Jason was a lot bigger and stronger than her boyfriend. Maybe this has been a mistake after all?

A few seconds later, Stuart slunk back into their apartment. He looked like he was trying not to cry and the music was as loud as ever.

"What happened?" Kayla asked.

"He said no. I'd rather not talk about," Stuart mumbled.

Kayla wanted to ask about the slapping sound but she didn't want to risk upsetting him further. It wouldn't be perfect but they still have a pleasurable evening anniversary night together.
