Beth's upbringing could easily be described by an outsider as "normal." She grew up in a stable, loving household, middle class, her parents were happily married, with a 30th Anniversary coming up soon. She had an older brother and a younger sister. }Beth's childhood started normally enough, but as is depressingly common, it didn't stay that way for long. Her mother and father divorced when she was seven, and she found out later about the cheating. Her mother got custody of Beth and her two siblings, and it was a yearly fight for child support from her deadbeat, unreliable father. A string of boyfriends did a varied job of filling that gap, but even the best ones never stuck around for long, as the divorce left her mother a bit bitter, and a drinker besides.{elseif Upbringing = 2
}Beth's parents were strict Catholics, and her education at various catholic schools was as repressed as you might expect. They weren't pleased that she was living with Brian before marriage, and expressed their displeasure with passive aggressive comments and disapproving sighs whenever they had the opportunity. Strangely enough, they had less disapproval for her older brother, despite the fact that they caught him fucking twice in high school. "Boy will be boys." Her father had said. Perhaps it wasn't so strange after all. The deacon's son could fuck girls, but the deacon's daughter could never be a "slut."

Her mother kept her maiden name, and both her parents freely smoked weed and talked openly about sex and encouraged openness and acceptance. Though they did their best to keep it away from the children, Beth had discovered their swinging lifestyle in high school, and when she did, her mother did her best to explain that she and Beth's father loved each other, but enjoyed sharing with other couples. As far as Beth knew, her parents still played, even as they approached fifty.{endif
