Strange at first

Ygritte led the trio to the librarian who had been stripped by the ghost in question. She lay on her back on top of one of the tables. A trench coat was draped over her front to protect her modesty. Only her arms, legs, and head were uncovered.

"Miss, I'm Dr. Ygritte Spanker. We talked for a moment before. These are my colleagues Dr. Petra Verkayek and Dr. May Skamz. We will ask you a few questions in relation to what you experienced earlier today."

The woman nodded, a bit delirious. Petra leaned in and used a breathy whisper into the woman's ear.

"Tell us, what exactly happened."

The librarian recounted the events as best she could, and she almost couldn't get to the part where she emerged from the basement, naked as a jaybird, screaming at the top of her lungs. The other patrons as well as the head librarian thought she had gone mad, and called the authorities.

"That is quite some story. Do you or your family have any history of mental illness?" Petra asked.

"My uncle thought he was Ron Jeremy." She said.

"I'd call that a yes." Petra replied.

"Well, he was Ron Jeremy's stand in on set... so he would sometimes..." the woman began.

"Well, I think we ought to see this thing for ourselves. You got your camera?" Petra asked May, who nodded.

Petra nodded to her friends to get moving so the trio then walked downstairs.

"You sure you think this is the real deal? I mean...we've NEVER encountered an actual corporeal apparition before!" May excitedly beamed.

"May, these reading are off the charts. By my calculations, whatever is down there, it isn't human." Ygritte said, waving a meter around.

"Sure, it scared the pants, and everything else, off that poor woman. You sure you don't need me to ask her a few more questions?" Petra asked, half joking.

Ygritte and May turned to Petra, staring at her plainly.

"Hey, can't fault a girl for trying." Petra held up her hands defensively.

The three of them stepped off the stairs and turned to enter the basement. Everything seemed normal. They began their search for anything out of the ordinary.
