Straight to the convention!

Evan and Melody get in her car and as they drive, Evan's mind was running laps thinking about what could happen to him dressed like this. Someone could recognize him and he could be embarrassed forever, made fun of at school, become the laughingstock of the town. Why was Evan dumb enough to go along with this stupid bet in the first place? As Evan stared out the window, deep in thought, Melody was her happy and bubbly self, as excited as ever.

Melody's costume was also from an anime, but not Pokemon. Her costume was based on Naruto, and she was wearing the pink wig and red outfit of the character Sakura. Her mind was also running laps, but only in deciding what she was going to do, she definitely knew of a few places she wanted to hit with Evan in mind, not to mention places she'd bookmarked in her mind the previous day.

As Melody pulled the car up to the convention, she spotted a group of girls in the parking lot and pulled in nearby to them. After stopping the car and pulling her key out, she turns to Evan.

"All right, time to go!" Melody said cheerfully.

"Huh?" Evan asked, pulled out of his reverie.

"We're here, let's go." Melody said, opening her door.

Evan follows suit and steps out of the car. After locking the doors, Melody grabs Evan by the arm and drags him over to the group of girls she'd spotted earlier, which consisted of her friends, all dressed in assorted anime costumes that Evan, naturally, didn't recognize. But he recognized the girls, there was Kelly, Melody's best friend, Veronica, another of her friends, and finally, Rebecca. Rebecca was different, because Evan had been harboring a crush on Rebecca since he was a little kid, but could never work up the courage to tell her. She looked particularly pretty in her costume.

"Hey Mel! Hey, uh who is this?" Kelly asked. "You didn't say you were bringing anyone today!"
Evan blushed and hoped that the ground would open up and swallow him.

"Oh my god..." Veronica said, putting a hand to her mouth.

"Evan, is that you?" Rebecca added.

The three of them started to laugh, but quickly regained their composure when they saw Evan's visible discomfort.

"Oh we're sorry, it's just that we didn't expect this" Kelly said, patting Evan on the back. "If it's any consolation, you look really good!"

"Yeah, we'd have never figured it out, but since we've known you since you were little, it was obvious to us." Rebecca assured him.

"Yeah, come on lets go enjoy the con!" Veronica said.

The group walks into the convention and shows their passes to gain entry. As they walk through the con floor, checking out booths, Rebecca pulled Evan aside to talk privately as the other three gawk at a Lego statue of an Evangelion robot.

"Evan, I don't want to sound mean, but why the hell are you dressed like this?" Rebecca asked.

"I made a bet with Mel. I thought I'd win." Evan shrugged.

"That explains it. I guess you learned why you never make a bet with your sister. No one ever wins those." Rebecca smirked. "But I do like that you took it like a man and went along with it. That's real manliness, being able to show your feminine side!"

"If you say so..." Evan sighed.

Rebecca quickly brings Evan in for a quick hug before they rejoin the group. Melody seemed to be having fun, and a hug from Rebecca meant that Evan didn't think the convention was all that bad.
