Storyline B: The Missing Years of Wonder Women

After entering the men's world for almost a century, a reminder was sent to Diana. It was a reminder of her missing years, a reminder of her most shameful secrets ... in the world of men.

Ancient Greece, thousands of years ago ...

As it is well known by mortals, once upon a time the god Hephaistos had been cast from heaven by his mother Hera at birth, for she was ashamed at bearing a crippled son. But as fate would like it the young god was rescued and raised by men in a cave on the shores of the River Okeanos, and later he became a skilled smith.

Manny year later, still angry at his mother's treatment, the now grown Hephaistos sent various gifts to Olympos including a Golden Throne for Hera. When the goddess sat upon this cursed throne she was bound fast. And no even the most powerful female of all could break this device.

to free his wife, Zeus sought the assistance of the gods in the freeing his Queen and offered his most beautiful daughter, Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and lust in marriage to the god who could bring Hephaistos to Olympos. Aphrodite agreed to the arrangement in the belief that her secret lover, Ares, god of war would prevail.

Ares stormed the forge of Hephaistos, bearing arms, but was driven back by the Divine Smith with showers of flaming metal. In the end, even the god of war was no match for the machinery crafted by Hephaistos. But soon, Dionysos, the Olympian god of wine and depravity, next approached the Hephaistos and lay forward a suggestion that the lonely cripple could not refuse.

By releasing his mother himself, he might claim Aphrodite himself. Hephaistos was pleased with the plan and ascended to Heaven with Dionysos, releasing his mother. However, in the end, it is told that the Godness of Love was wedded reluctantly to the God of Smithering, dour and humorless as he was, resulting in many unfaithfulnesses of Aphrodite in the future. Fearful of the might of Area, Hephaistos could only swallow his pride and remain blind to this humiliation.

So far, this story was known by mortals, as written in their forgotten and dismissed myths. But in the holy scrolls on Themyscira, home of the Amazons, the story of Hephaistos and Aphrodite continues, leading to one of the darkest secrets that the female warriors have sworn to protect from the men's world ...
