Stick to my duty

“I suppose she’s right Link, you’d best be going.” Saria decided, always the responsible one.
I reluctantly followed Navi to the path that lead to the Great Deku Tree, but when we got there, someone was in the way. It was Mido, a kind boy, who, even if he seemed obnoxious sometimes, always looked out for me because I never had a fairy guardian like the rest of the Koriki. He stood in the path looking impatient, like he was waiting for someone. When I reached him, held his hand out in a “halt” gesture.

“Sorry Link, but no one’s allowed in here, the Great Deku Tree is very sick, and even if she wasn’t, I let you in without an express invitation.” Mido said, an overprotective look on his face.
“Hi my names Navi, I’m Link's new fairy guardian. The Great Deku Tree actually did summon Link.” Navi interrupted

His mouth dropped open, not even trying to hide his surprise. After he finally gathered himself, he smiled and said,

“Congratulations, Link, I’m so happy for you.” He said with a hug, “Though, sorry but the path here was recently infested with monsters. I’m afraid I just wouldn’t feel right if you went in there without any weapons. Tell you what, if you come back here with a sword and shield I’d be okay letting you go.”
“Oh, alright. For you.” I said back teasingly.
