Stay and Help the Followers.

"I'll stay and help for as long as I can." Madeline said "Though I can't stay forever I am afraid. I have things I need to do for my home."

"I understand," Dr. Gannon nods "But we appreciate it."

Dr. Gannon was stand offish. Madeline didn't know why. Most men seemed to pay her too much attention. She felt something about Dr. Gannon, she had helped her. And seen her naked, even if in a professional capacity when tending to her wounds. She worked side by side with Dr. Gannon and learned much about the wastelands surrounding New Vegas.

Madeline stayed for some time and helped the followers doing this and that. Learning more about the area. She dare not venture far from the Old Mormon Fort. She worked well and was loved by those she helped, even if they often leered at her as she worked. On one or two occasions a patient tried to make a move. Madeline rebuffed them.

As time went on Madeline learned that Dr. Gannon spent much of his time researching medical advances.

"What is it you are researching Dr. Gannon?" Madeline inquired.

"Oh, Please, call me Arcade." Dr. Gannon's eyes lit up and he smiled "I am investigation the use of mutated plants for medical purposes."

"That is fascinating, any breakthrough?" Madeline asked, genuinely interested as well as acting flirtatious.

"Sadly not yet." he sighed "But I do have hope that things will develop--it just needs more work. What about you? I know you are from a Vault--you don't have to tell me which one--its better that I don't know."

"What do you mean?" Madeline asked puzzled.

"There are people out there like the Brotherhood of Steel who would take technology from places for themselves--then there are raiders who will waste such excellent technology." Arcade shook his head.

"You seem to know or at least respect the technology in Vaults...have you lived in one?" Madeline asked hesitantly.

"Yes," Arcade said "of a short. Its complicated. But we should continue or work. Do you plan on staying for a while?"
