...enjoy her day, maybe surprise Jiro later after work. The Gerudo Fortress wasn't going anywhere, after all, and she hadn't been able to find the Happy Mask Salesman at all. Instead of any of that boring stuff, Link spent his day committing some minor burglaries around town, from those who could afford to lose it, of course, and then using the money to buy herself some better-fitting clothes, some earrings, and a hair tie, so she could put it back into a ponytail. She enjoyed flirting with guys she saw, and the envious looks of other women around the small village. When it looked like Jiro was getting off work, she met up with him, wearing a green top and shorts she had customized to look a little more 'Gerudo'. When Jiro saw her, all dolled up, he looked like he might faint from shock and arousal. It made Link want to laugh, how well wrapped around her finger he was. "Lara, is that you?"

Of course, Link realized, she had changed a little since yesterday. She had almost forgotten. Link smiled at her boyfriend and told him, "I just had a makeover. Do you like, Jiro baby?" Link could already tell he did from the tent in his pants, but his feverish nodding was the icing on the cake.

Suddenly, however, he looked forlorn. "We can't sleep together at my lodgings, Lara, the boss almost caught us last night."

Link rolled her eyes, as if they were going to stay at that hovel another day longer. "Jiro, there's no problem. I've booked us a room at the inn, and that's where we can stay until I buy us a house." He looked completely shellshocked by this news, and just because she could Link leaned in closer until her mouth was directly outside his ear, and whispered, "It's a single bed." She then nibbled a little on his ear, to seal the deal.

That night, in their room, as Link lay completely naked on the bed, waiting for Jiro to come back from his old lodgings with his clothes, she reflected. Is this really what she wanted? She was supposed to be a man, to be the Hero of Time, to save Hyrule. But as Jiro came into the room, his boner clearly visible through his trousers, those questions became ridiculous. Right now, Lara was a woman, a Gerudo, and she would protect this man, and maybe the village, but the rest of Hyrule would have to save itself.

Several months later, Lara and Jiro were living well in the home they had taken as their own after they cleared those blasted cursed rich people out of it. She had trained Jiro in combat, as well as she could, and together they kept the village safe. In time, when the armies of Hyrule gathered to try one last time at defeating the King of Evil, Lara left to fight, leaving her newborn daughter in the care of Jiro. She fought with bow and arrow, boomerang and hammer, but kept her sword, the Master Sword, hidden and safe. Just when it looked as though the war was hopeless, that Ganondorf, no, Ganon was unstoppable, Lara attacked from out of nowhere, skewering the monster through the head, and sending that beast to hell where he belonged. No one ever learned what became of the Hero of Time, but instead a new Hero arose, the Hero of Kakariko, a dark-skinned woman with auburn hair and a fierce temper. With her family by her side, she kept the land safe for as long as she lived.
