Tegan couldn't believe she was doing this. She sat in the mayor's office, sitting opposite of him. "I don't know what that witch did to my husband, but I want to destroy her and make him so sorry that he ever left me to be with her!" Tegan was livid. It had been a month of the two of you being lovey-dovey while she cleaned.
The mayor, Jake, couldn't help but smirk. "I've wanted that woman for a while. I can't wait to make that stuck-up whore my cock-obsessed **** and put that little bitch in his place. In fact... I have a plan I can put in place right now."
He reached over and grabbed his phone. He dialed something before finally connecting. "Yes, Sophie. Good morning. We have some questions regarding your home. When you get the chance, please make your easy to the City Hall so I may go over them with you. Uh-huh. See you in a few minutes." He hung up the phone and turned back to Tegan. "It looks like we need to get prepared for mother dearest."
She always hated this boy. He'd made your life a living hell and now he was the mayor of the town. "It seems your property taxes have gone up, but you haven't been paying them."
"What? Why didn't I hear about this earlier." Sophie asked, gripping the arms of her chair.
"We tried to reach out to you, but I suppose you were busy at the time. No matter, I'd say you owe the city around twenty thousand dollars." Jake pushed the bill paperwork towards her and leaned back in his chair.
"We can't afford this. There's no way! I'll... need to talk to my son about this. Surely there's something—"
"Ah, yes. Letting him pay for your mistakes. How motherly. I'm sure he'd happily go into debt for his precious 'mommy.' If that's what you want for him..." Jake trained off and gave shrug. "Of course, I'm willing to find... alternate payment."
"Of course you are," Sophie signed. "Well, out with it."
"It's simple: you marry me and become my wife and we can take care of the debt nice and easy." He leaned forward with a sick grin. "I've been looking for the right woman for quite some time and you certainly have... the assets I'm looking for."
Sophie bit her lip. Just when things were going well! She couldn't just agree to this, could she? Maybe she should have you look over the contract. Then again, Jake was right: involving you wasn't something a good mother did.
