Chapter 179 by Johnrocker Johnrocker

What's next?

Someone to cheer up Mark

It had to have been one of the worst sleeps he had even had, laying down on the public couch. Mark didn’t get much sleep if he was honest, constantly tossing and turning.

When other dorm students came out in the morning, Mark knew it was time to get up himself. He tried to play it off that he was just taking a bit of a nap out here, not actually sleeping the whole night on the couch.

‘I need some fresh air’, he thought to himself.

Walking outside the hall, he didn’t expect to run into the very last person he wanted to see. Stepping outside, Mark was greeted with the view of Matt trudging back to East Hall.

It was obvious that he was thinking the same thing as Mark last night and chose not to sleep in their dorm room. As Matt saw him, Mark was debating whether he should make a quick run for it and get the hell out of there, worried he might start another fist fight.

Matt stopped meters away from him before speaking.

“Relax. I’m not going to hit you,” he said, noticing the timidness in Mark.

“You didn’t sleep here either?” Mark asked him.

“Nope. Didn’t want to be anywhere near you. Or Cassidy for that matter,” he said. “You know we’re going to have to switch room mates yeah? I’m sure not going to sleep in the same room as you any longer.”

“I figured that might be the case,” Mark then said.

There was an awkward pause, they both clearly wanted the other one to say that they’ll take the bullet and move.

“Maybe I can speak with Tiffany today,” Mark said, “Just to sort something out.”

Matt nodded, his face couldn’t have been anymore depressed. Slowly, he trudged past him, it was as awkward as it could get but at least it’s a whole lot better than having another fight.

The silence as he passed summed up the whole situation. There’s no way that Matt would ever get over this, he’s just not like that.

Later that day, Mark spoke with Tiffany about a room change. She was more than helpful, not breaching his privacy much about the whole situation that had unfolded in public. Organising a switch, Tiffany was able to find a new room for Matt which now meant that Mark had a bed spare in his room.

It was a little bit eerie as he sat in the now half empty room after all of Matt’s stuff was cleared out.

The silence was broken by a knock of the door. Opening it up, Winter stood there, what a sight for sore eyes.

“Oh Mark, I’m so sorry, I just heard what happened,” she said, walking in and wrapping her arms around him.

The hug was great. She brought him in tight, her big breasts comforting his chest in a light brown tank top. “Thanks Winter.”

“I’m sorry I missed your calls too. My phone died while I was out at the carnival and then I was just a little busy when I got back,” she apologised.

Mark knew exactly where she was but didn’t want to tell her that he had come to find her last night. “It’s all good, seriously! I understand.”

Winter came in and sat on his bed as Mark once again explained the whole situation with Matt and Cassidy. He figured this wouldn’t be the last time that he would have to explain the whole story to someone here.

Thankfully, just like Ali, she also had some sympathy for Mark, understanding what he was going through right now.

“Why don’t we get out of here for the rest of the day? Get your mind off things,” she then asked him.

“I mean I dunno... I just don’t think I’d be very good company,” Mark admitted.

She wasn’t going to take that for an answer though, “Come on, let’s get out of here, you know I’ll make it worth it,” she said, pulling him up off the bed.

So off they went, Winter taking them both for a drive.
