Someone new

Drake woke with a yawn and a stretch. "Well, another day." he said without any tone in his voice. Drake was bored with life. The world is full of superheros, supervillains, and all these wonderful things, but he was just an average person. And he knew it.

Drake swung his legs out of bed. Pausing only to get dressed, he walked out the door on his way to work. Even work was boring. All it was was him taking money and giving change. And that got really old after a while!

He was so caught up in his boredom that he didn't notice the car barreling towards him at sixty miles an hour.

There was a crunch behind him and he spun, already flinching in pain that didn't come. Instead, he saw the car being stopped forcefully. "Good thing I was nearby!" the person who stopped the car said.
